I think this is a manufactured excuse to play Lamar. To save face. When there's talk about coaches being fired, those sorts of things tend to happen.

I don't think it's manufactured. He did injure his hip last game (I think). However, I joked a few days ago on Reddit that this was exactly the scenario that would be the best possible long-term case for this team because it would give us a plausible situation to put Joe on IR and play Lamar then some team trades for Joe next season when we just roll with Lamar and don't look back.

He hurt it on the play Tuitt jumped offsides and hit him.

Give him an Oscar for how he hobbled around last week then.

Exactly. On a pure performance level alone Flacco is on pace for one of his best seasons, despite these past 2 weeks not being his strongest. Add in that the Raven's last game was Lamar's most ineffective and all of this chatter seems even more silly. The Ravens aren't looking for a reason to start a Rookie QB going into a crucial 2nd half stretch.

Flacco's no longer the Ironman he once was, and the regression/hampered play brought on by those injuries in the past couple seasons has hurt the team. It was a prudent move by Ozzie in his last year at the helm to not only take a cheap shot at a possible QBOTF, but also nab some High Tier injury insurance for situations just like this.

Bills should take a look at Flacco next year to be the McCown to Allen tbh.

Excited to see Jackson, he's looked good in limited action so far.

Flacco would haveZero interest in being that person. Nor does it make sense for Allen. There are "journey men" QB all over the place. Flacco is not that, yet!

Starting QB for the Jags, Dolphins, Bucs, Raiders, Broncos, Giants. Sure.

Let's not pretend this is something that's actually impressive, though. It just means that usually he's a bottom 5 QB in the league and this year he's probably bottom 15 or so.
