Cuba Smugglers

Offense

We are welcoming Dalvin Cook back into the offense. His help transforms our team in a balanced attack. We like many of the matchups. Julio Jones is going to have plus matchups. If he’s double covered by non safeties named Harrison Smith, we like his opportunity of producing with 10-15 targets. If Smith does help cover against Julio, we have the rest of the offense available. Sean Lee being out means Luke Kuchely has more responsibility covering Cook or Jack Doyle. We’ll use this to our advantage as the other individual has a plus matchup. We can get DeSean Jackson to spread the field on a vertical basis. That impact should open Donte Moncrief and it gives Kirk Cousins a lot of opportunity to get people involved. With some protection that is elite on the right side, Kirk Cousins should have time to make these correct reads. Establishing the run brings good balance and a successful gamescript.

Defense

We think very highly of Jared Goff. If another team knows punishments of RL talent not being similar in BDL, it is this time. Leonard Fournette is a downhill runner whom will help this team keep balance. We’ll bring Derwin James down as Richard Sherman should keep his side blanketed. While this team has a bunch of respectable options, none after Fournette are the type to command shadow or safety help. Nonetheless, LaMarcus Joyner will play atop of the opposite CB. We are very prepared to add another LB in some 4-3 looks instead of the 5 DB looks. We’ll mix a dime package or 3 DL looks to bring more DBs against 4 WR. Thomas Davis will cover Greg Olson and we aren’t afraid to lit the safety help on him if necessary. This excludes sub packages with Ronnie Harrison or Morgan Burnett.

Wichita Woodpeckers

Offense:

Main formation: 3WR-1 TE RPO

This week we will be running a hurry up 3 wide RPO offense with no substitutions during each drive. This means if Fournette is the first back on the first drive, he will carry through the entire drive. This will keep Cuba's starting defense on the field the entire drive, not allowing them to get fresh bodies on the field.

Running the RPO this week will allow us to wear out the defense as they won't be able to key on the passing or running game from play to play. Due to the fact that Cuba runs a man-on-man offense, we will be looking for the key mismatches including the one where Gabriel runs with one of Cuba's slower CBs in the slot. The TE and RB will also be key running routes out of the back field as it will force the a weaker coverage LBer to defend one of the better TEs in the game in Olsen or try to stop a RB in open space.

Another key to the offense is the running game. We will look to pound Cuba's like throughout this game. With not being able to substitute, Cuba's like will wear out a lot more quickly throughout the game. Having the two headed threat of Fournette and Peterson will also be trying for Cuba the handle as they won't have fresh legs on either RBs drives.

Defense:

Cuba's kryptonite is it's o-line. LT tore his bicep and has not been an elite blocker on Cousin's blindside since. Carpenter and Sullivan are middling BDL players that would be better considered as depth pieces rather than what you would like your offense to run with. Their RG and RT are there most solidified spot

Thus this week you are going to see Brandon Graham and A'Shawn Robinson lineup on Cousin's blindside, whlie Allen and Vernon handle the other. We will sprinkle in some five man blitzes via the LBing core from time to time. Allen and Vernon also are elite run defenders so this will provide extra run defense to their best run blockers.

We will be playing a Cover two shell the majority of the game to keep the long ball game from occurring with our two outside corners sliding to the inside of the route and our safeties being on the outside making sure DJax and Jones are kept to short gains if any. Flowers will be in the slot again this week.  On third and long we will throw some dollar looks out there with a three corner/three safety look to put the fastest people on the field to lock down the other offense from completing third downs.

Kuechley will have Cook while Reddick will get Doyle on coverage responsibilities in base set.

LaMarcus Joyner has experience at CB. PR has 3 active WRs because his bench features Jordan Wilkins whom is a RB.

Also, he has experience as a nickelback, manning the outside is a brand new experience AND the safety you bring in will be a downgrade in deep coverage which is a plus

Bryce Callahan can move outside. Morgan Burnett can play safety.
