So hard for people to just give props these days. xD

Giants made some fantastic moves in FA.  Harrison and Jenkins were slam dunk signings, and Vernon was a solid signing as well.  May have overpaid a bit for Vernon but he's been a good player for them...

This x1000. So, anymove is bad if you don't win playoff games? Single elimination tournaments can be a crapshoot. They were good signings.

In the NFC East division, the Philly Wentzes scored 23 and 24 points vs the NYGs defense - which was pretty much what the Eagles averaged all season. So vs a divisional foe with a rookie QB and talent-depleted skill positions - the Giants were an average defense on both occasions.

2nd game vs. Philly Eli threw a pick 6. You're counting that against the defense?

That's a misleading statement.  The 200 million hasn't been paid out.  They have these guys, who were All-pros in their first year, under contract until 2021.  If they have 0 playoff wins by 2021, then your statement would be accurate.

Then how can you say it was worth it? That seems hypocritical.

We're going to see Eli v. Brady part 3 this upcoming February.  You heard it here first.

Heard it here first? Well, obviously....considering  you say it every single year.

To add to how amazing the turnaround was - the Giants allowed the most Touchdowns in the NFL in 2015, and the least in 2016.  Talk about exponential improvement.

False.

I thought they were good moves for sure but comparing Harrison to Wilfork is very laughable. Also we need emoticons and a dislike feature to go with the like feature.

He racked up 49 defensive stops in the run game this season, 10 more than any other defensive tackle. That mark tied the record for the most PFF has ever recorded for a defensive tackle, breaking a record he set himself a year ago. Only eight other defensive tackles could even get within half of Harrison’s tally over the season, and he played fewer snaps against the run than many of them.

In the past 10 years, the number of times a defensive tackle has posted more than 40 run stops in a season reads: rest of the NFL, one; Damon Harrison, two.

Harrison has led the league in run-stop percentage for the past four seasons.

haha, i guess

In 2014, the Broncos signed- Aqib Talib, Emmanuel Sanders, TJ Ward, and Demarcus Ware...so yes, I'd say there's been at least one bigger splurge in FA history ;)

Only Talib and Ward were seen as big spashes though. Ware wasn't even a free agent, Dallas cut him and we picked him up rather than sign a FA pass rusher so he wouldn't affect the compensatory draft pick formula. Sanders was signed a couple of weeks into FA as a bargain player. His career took off once he joined Denver.
