First off, whoever said defense isn't as important anymore is clueless. We should be focused on rebuilding the defense for the rest of Ben's career, and adding offense only when necessary or when there is great value.

Secondly, in terms of Colbert, he has failed big time in certain areas.   Doesn't mean he is terrible,  but some of his failures as a GM have inarguably hurt this team. A good draft here and there doesn't change that.

So much this.  His failures have been in key areas and have hurt this team.  If you want to 'excuse' the lack of depth because we pay heavy at the top that's fine.  But lately even our 'paying the top' isn't working all that well enough to survive the lack of depth.  Just look at the fact the Fieler is out playing Gilbert, and making about 1/15th what Gilbert makes.  The fact that our best CB is a guy considered 'over the hill' by most teams.  60% of one of our first round pick's sacks have come against an UDFA and a 1st time starter (backup).  Heck we rag on Bud Dupree and his lack of a pass rush, but it could be argued he's doing it against better OT's.  He's traded up for 2 backup QB's who haven't really looked that good (Jones and Rudolph).  Outside of Juju, Brown, Sanders he hasn't had that much success drafting WR's.

As for Adeyini returning, what are the broncos OT's like this season?

In a word - dreadful. They are much, much worse on the road but even at home they are poor.

We didn't give up any sacks against the Chargers, but Bosa brought a ton of pressure (his 1st game of the year) and we didn't move the ball at all well through the air until our final drive.
