Wyld Stallyns
https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2018/11/21/indianapolis-colts-quincy-wilson-mike-mitchell-saved-my-season/ Wilson approached Mitchell asking how it is he can make a seamless transition in less than a week when it has taken the young cornerback more than a year to make a consistent impact. “Bro, I need you,” Wilson told Mitchell. “I see that you do it different. You come off the street and make plays right away? Show me how.” Breaking down the film was the first lesson. Mitchell has shown Wilson, and other young secondary members, how to truly key on what opposing offenses are trying to do. ================================ Going with a youth movement is key to making a successful rebuild. But finding veterans who are willing to help those young players around them get better is a huge part as well. Glad to see Wilson is recognizing his faults and willing to make himself vulnerable and ask the tough question to a veteran player.
buccolts
Yeah, that was a great read. With all the knuckleheads we ususally read/hear about, it's good to hear a good story once in a while.
Warhorse
I have long felt that development, is more important than the players chosen. No, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but development can be huge in a league where attention to detail can make a play, a game, or a season.
