But my mother was allergic back then, so she wouldn't be able to visit. She has since passed, but I retired to the sunshine state since. Most Condo's don't allow dogs at all. The only exception would be the ones that fit into a pocket book. I don't plan on moving or getting a "old ladies dog". So next life it is. My first is from shelters but I feel like I would be getting a dog I don't know much about breed wise and wouldn't be able to handle since a lot of them here are mutts. Some shelter dogs are great and have great temperaments, easily trainable and make awesome family pets. Others come with a lot of baggage and need a lot of work and extra care to turn into a good dog. Some just shouldn't be adopted out.
