I wouldn't be so sure of that. Some guys really like a cushy ol' NCAA gig. Especially if it's something like the USC job, that might offer him a fast-track to HC of a big powerhouse recruiting talent factory like that. There's a lot of potential control in that, and it can be a more stable situation if you do it well. Whereas an OC job with a short-leash HC like Marrone could be a one and done and he's back out on the street in a year looking for an opportunity as good as the USC one. Some guys seem to really want the challenge of taking on an NFL job. Others just seem comfortable when they've got more control and can build up a real talent advantage in the NCAA.
