Lol is that Chiefs fan above trying to justify Hunt's actions?? Lol, no.

Nope. Just trying to add some context instead of only reading the headline and parroting the same ole "you never hit a woman. You just don't." rhetoric. There's more to the story than most people are acknowledging. I clearly said in my post that they're both in the wrong. Did you even read my post?

Kind of weird that freaking TMZ is able to get a hold of videos like this and the Rice one, yet the NFL isn't.

One is a tabloid/gossip site. The other is a 14 billion $ a year industry, that has the former NY State Sex Crimes Unit Chief in charge of their domestic violence investigations......

Here's the problem with your premise - you're pointing to why the NFL wouldn't want to do those steps motivation-wise.  It's all a lip show service to what they try to portray publicly.  And that's all well and good in Feb/March/etc.  when the case is open.  But once the case is closed, all those arguments go away on why they can't apply initially, or to let the investigation play out.   Then it's just a case of why KC and NFL don't really want to look too deeply - which again, flies in the face of what they are trying to portray - they have zero tolerance, and "never again".  When their attitude and mindset definitely don't mirror the same.

Consider the counterpoints:

1.  Not wanting to make knowledge of video availability public - the case is ALREADY public knowledge.    So applying for access to the video doesn't violate her privacy, if the NFL has no plans to publicly disseminate it (and obviously they won't).

2.  The video content either exonerates Hunt, best-case.  But if it's as problematic as it's turned out to be optics wise - it makes the league/KC look great for getting it out there.  And again, this is the position that NFL / KC took from the past.    It's fine to say they didn't really mean it - but then call it for what it is.

3.  Knowing there is video available - the NFL and KC were just stupid to think it wouldn't get out there eventually.   That's something any org should know by this stage, and certainly the NFL (Zay Jones incident should have hammered that message home).  And so sure, they can say "we didn't know what was on it" - but again, for a league that just went through Ray Rice, to do it 1x is forgiveable - a 2nd time, zero forgiveness.

4.  All of the above points you make are why the NFL might not get access - but they don't justify not applying.    And since the NFL has had an open investigation since February - it makes them look like they don't really want to find out what happened.   Which is probably the case.

You've pointed all the reasons the NFL could say it was hard to apply - but the fact is, they chose not to.   And that was after saying  over & over again they would never leave a stone unturned.    Remember, this is a big part to how the NFL justifies its' own self-administered discipline process.    The league (and by extension, KC) put themselves in the position of being the judge, jury and executioner - and so to deliberately not pursue every available course, they left themselves completely open to this criticism.  And it's 100 percent earned.

You're operating under a faulty assumption that the NFL can just make a request and its honored.  The NFL has to abide by proper procedure here, which all indications are that they did.  They didnt just turn a blind eye and think the video was never going to get out there.  From my understanding they did everything short of paying off a hotel employee to obtain the video.  That's not willful ignorance.

As far as appointing themselves judge jury and executioner, that is in regards to football and their operations as an organization.  The legal system is still the legal system.  For all the hemming and hawing about this today, keep in mind that this video was viewed months ago by police and prosecutors and they determined that there wasnt enough there to get an indictment, let alone a conviction.  Why this is playing the way this is right now is bc a narrative is being created without full knowledge of the facts.  Yeah after prosecutors have decided they arent going to pursue charges, and the NFL has done their due diligence and the player seems to be cleared by authorities why would they be concerned about the tape getting out.

Not really.  Their entire business model depends on their ability to get access to stuff like this video and show it before anyone else has it.

TMZ can use illegal methods and claim first ammendment protection.  The NFL does not have that luxury.

It's amazing to me how a guy like Kap who had a peaceful protest isn't allowed to be a backup on a team but Foster and Hunt can act like this and get 2nd chances.

I agree with you, but we have to consider the talent. The NFL have and likely always will give talent 2nd chances.

Ray Rice and CK were coming off bad seasons. Foster and Hunt are young/talented players. The second Hardy stopped producing, he was out of the NFL too. It almost doesn’t matter what they did (certain crimes obviously would ruin anybody), if they’re talented enough and it can get swept under the rug, they’ll be back.

It’s a shame as far as humanity goes, but it’s really nothing new.

If they had done it they’d be taking great pains to publicize this.  Also keep in mind an application becomes public record - so no record until now is a pretty good indication they didn’t.   Now if they come out with this on Monday and show a trail they truly attempted, I’ll gladly agree with your take.  Until they do though Occam’s razor applies - the reason why they haven’t brought this up is they didn’t pursue.  Otherwise this would be front and center of their messaging.

The best they could come up with was presenting this as new info they would review.  That’s telling given how much blow back they’ve already encountered.

You are make a ton of assumptions. You have no idea what they did or didn’t do.

Kap's problem is that he's not good enough.  Why would a team go though the hassle that comes with signing Kap when he's a backup level NFL player?  Just not worth it.

This. If Kap was a top-end starter, he'd be in the league. But he's a below average starter at best, so he's not worth the headache it would bring a team to sign him.

Not even top end, if he was just an Alex Smith level QB he would still be in the league. Yes, many NFL owners are a bunch of grouchy conservatives. But most aren't going to sacrifices decent/above average QB play for their political beliefs.

Its amazing that you still can't get that his people called Steve Biscotti a plantation owner and he did nothing to stop it or disavow it.

Its amazing that 4-20 in his last 24 along with pig socks, ANTI-THANKSGIVING, SLAVE PATROL, dating Aldon Smith's ex while trying to be a leader. Castro worship/America hatred, suing the league, tweeting about colonial slavery and America while standing on the modern day slave continent of Africa, getting on a Nike Commercial that honors you for suing the league, and everything else just does not register.

You don't have to be against Kaep to get this. You just have to see that the other side is justified.

How can anyone not see that?

Yeah, none of that is justification. The justification is the one laid out above. Football talent has to outweigh the bad PR. It does for Hunt. It doesn't for Kaepernick.
