Manny Diaz was just hired by Temple and then a few months later he leaves them for Miami.

Still not the same.  This was a unique situation.  Trying to say it happens all the time is dumb.  It doesnt happen all the time.  And he still hasnt gotten another job yet.  We'll see what happens

The only reason it was unique is because it goes against your argument.  Hell, we're seeing it right now with Kliff Kingsbury and USC.

No we're not.  Allow me to explain this to you.  Kingsbury was hired as an OC at USC.  Hes getting NFL HC interviews.  If he leaves USC, hes leaving for a better job, not renegging on a contract.  There will be a buyout clause that will be met, or USC will release him from his contract.  Again with Manny Diaz, Miami is paying a $4M buyout that was written into the contract.  With McDaniels none of that happened.  He went as far as agreeing to terms, the reneged on his word, putting his agent in an awkward position, putting the colts in an awkward position, and putting the coaches that he recruited and told the colts to sign in an awkward position.  It was the scummiest of scumbag moves.  The closest resemblance as far as coaches would be Belichick resigning from the Jets the day after being offered the HC position, and Bobby Petrino leaving in the middle of the night for Arkansas.  Petrino will never work in the NFL again after that stunt, and Belichick really didnt reneg but it was just weird a few days after he gets offered the jets hc job, hes the Pats HC.

In your opinion, it's a better job.  And it absolutely is renegging on a contract.  He signed a contract to coach for USC, plain and simple.  He's now talking about resigning from USC to pursue another job.  That's where the issue lies.  In McDaniels' eyes, he felt that the England OC gig was better than the Indianapolis HC gig, and why are we faulting him for it?  He'll absolutely have to answer questions about it, but I in no way fault him for it.

If there is a buyout it's not renegging, it's in the contract.  Teams dont want to lose coaches to better programs or the NFL? Stop including buyout clauses.
