Xenos
This was going to happen after this season was over anyways since he was not worth the contract and cap space. With that being said, good luck to you Joe and your hard work for this team. I hope you get your issue resolved and that everything will be okay. Footballwise, this hurts our depth. But it was the right thing to do for both Barksdale and the team.

Had serious issues last year. It seemed like he was getting better, but something must have triggered it again. Not sure if it was football related. Now he needs to take care of himself first and hopefully be able to live a normal life going forward. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22338234/joe-barksdale-opens-severe-depression
kramxel
Strange. Teams don't usually hurt their O-line this late when there's a real possibility of entering the playoffs.

Hopefully he can turn things around. That’s a bummer when it’s really impacting your life in that big of a way
Xenos
I was super excited when we managed to pick him up on the cheap in 2015. He was our best olinemen that year. Of course, that may have also been because he was the only non injured OL that year. Unfortunately, he never showed the consistency of the 2015 season after signing his contract with us. I was hoping that we would replace him. And it looks like we did with Sam Tevi (our 7th rounder last year). Tevi is a much better run blocker than Barksdale. However, he is not there yet in terms of pass protection compared to Barksdale. Which may be a problem down the line if we do make the playoffs. If this was indeed the reason, I can only whish him the best.

incognito_man
His brother Avon probably has enough for both them to retire on anyway.

TecmoSuperJoe
I forgot about Dylan Cantrell. I'm anxious to see if he'll be able to capitalize on his opportunity.
