Joe Mixon

I have the #4 pick in my dynasty league. I have a feeling the 1st 3 picks will go McCaffrey, Fournette, Cook. Can someone please get me excited about drafting Joe Mixon? I don't need a WR, and I could take Lynch, but I'm rebuilding so I'd like to get a young guy.

Have you seen the guy play in preseason? That should be all of the excitement you need.

Five years from now, more than half of the top 10 RBs may be from this draft class. It's absolutely insane. Get as many of these RBs as possible...even if you have to completely ignore the rest of your draft.

If Mixon falls to #4 you need to take him. He's looking great so far. Give him a quick Google search, click on News and read some of the stuff coming out of camp, and then watch some early tape. You'll get all the excitement you need.

Definitely need to take him. Hill has been proven meh and Gio isnt a bell cow. Cincy is a good team so he will get touches late and Dalton/Green are plenty good to avoid stacked boxes and also get him near the goaline

So would you guys take him over Cook? I am a noles fan, so perhaps that clouds my judgment a bit, but I think Cook will really be a special player. Same with McCaffrey. I agree with Sammy though, I think this is a really loaded rookie class for fantasy football. I plan on grabbing them up early and often. I also always think I know how the 1st round will play out and usually I am way off, so we will see.

Sounds like you take who isn't selected 1-3, whether that be Mixon, Cook or McCaffrey.

I traded up to 1.1, I had 1.2 as well and I selected Fournette and Mixon and couldn't be happier.

I was gonna put a package together and move up to 1.1, but the guy traded that pick dirt cheap to another guy. I was bummed, I could've got that pick for next to nothing.

This is tough because it's dynasty.  I fully expect Fournette, Cook, and McCaffery (And Kamura actually) to have better fantasy seasons than Mixon this year.  Not just because of him sharing carries with Hill/Gio but because the Bengals OLine is crap at run blocking.

I expect the Bengals to address the OLine in next years draft which should help (Along with the wealth of OLine talent potentially in next years draft), so Mixon will pay dividends for you next season.  This season, I still like him but like some of those other guys more because they are in better situations...

Couldn't the same thing be said for Kamara with Ingram/AD? Curious to hear your thoughts.

That's where the OLine/offense comes in.  As much as Jeremy Hill has disappointed the past couple of seasons, it's not all on him.  The OLine hasn't given him a lot to work with.  If you watch the Bengals/Chiefs preseason game you can see Mixon getting some 1st string reps.  Which he looked good, but not "great" because our OLine didn't give him a lot of room to work with...

Would you really put cook ahead of mixon? I was thinking Mixon was the highest ranked rookie to target!!!!
