MKnight82
2020 NBA Draft Draft Picks Round 1 – 2 overall Round 1 – 19 overall Round 2 – 33 overall My top pick will be heavily impacted by what the Celtics do at 1. Time to get this thing started. The Cetlics select PF Ayrton Paulista with the #1 overall pick. He was a solid all around player, didn't really stand out to me in any one area. I think him going #1 was best case scenario for me. Here are the top prospects available at 2: PG Wallace Ingram DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 2 PG Wallace Ingram 6'1" 170 6'8" Virginia 75 A INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS C+ B- D D- B- B+ D B- C+ Ingram is the player my Head Coach wants me to select, but I'm not so sure. He doesn't have great size, or athleticism 84 SPD, 81 ACC, 72 LQ, and he can't shoot. He's basically a pass first PG that will likely develop into a solid defender. I feel like I can get a player like that much later in the draft. He does have 10 badges which is nice, Difficult Shots, Flashy Passer, Lob City Passer, One Man Fast Break, Pick & Roll Maestro, Relentless Finisher, & Tear Dropper. SF Drew Lawson DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 4 SF Drew Lawson 6'7" 206 6'8" Creighton 74 A- INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS B- C- C- C- C C- C C A Lawson is kind of good at everything, but doesn't really excel at anything yet. With his smaller size for a SF, and his athleticism (96 SPD, 87 ACC, 71 LQ) I would probably play him at the 2 guard spot. He would need to work on his shooting to be a good contributor at Guard, but his speed could be a weapon, and his inside scoring means he could be a solid slasher. He only has the Acrobat Badge, but that coincides with him being a slasher. PF Gerald Lynch DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 5 PF Gerald Lynch 6'10" 211 7'2" St. John's 77 B+ INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS B- B- D+ B- C+ C- B- B+ A- Lynch has good size, and with 88 SPD, 76 ACC, 77 LQ, is a really intriguing athlete at the 4 spot. He can't shoot 3s, but he doesn't have a decent mid-range game. He should develop into a good all around defender and rebounder. He has the Acrobat, Chase Down Artist and Defensive Stopper Badges, so he might actually become a really high end defender. With his speed he could even play some minutes at SF if needed. C Allen Stafford DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 6 C Allen Stafford 7'1" 268 7'7" Loyola 78 A+ INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS C D- F C+ D D A C- D Stafford has pretty good size and is an elite rebounder already. His 62 SPD, 61 ACC are nothing special for a Center, but his 50 LQ is troubling. He also will need to improve as an interior defender, and I doubt he ever contributes much offensively. He does have a ton of badges, Break Starter, Brick Wall, Bruiser, Charge Card, Hustle Rebounder, and Putback King. He doesn't have Rim Protector or Defensive Stopper though. This is tough because Stafford at 78 OVR is the highest OVR in the draft, plus his A+ potential rating is the highest in the draft, but it still seems like he's a really raw prospect that needs a lot of work. Is that worth it for a guy that is so limited athletically? I think I've made up my mind, there's only one guy here that really stands out from the rest. With the 2nd pick in the NBA draft the Miami Heat select: PF, Gerald Lynch, St. John's This was not the guy I thought I'd be selecting when I first saw that top 10 prospects board. Him and Collins should be quite the pairing. The Spurs took PG Wallace Ingram at 3, meh. At 4 the Timberwolves select SG Dennis Singleton, he's a good shooter but only 72 OVR right now. The Kings take SF Joseph Schneider at 5, he's a solid wing prospect but not the best athlete. C Allen Stafford goes 6th to the Magic, I think he was definitely BPA but what is Orlando going to do with ANOTHER Center. Idiots. SF Drew Lawson goes 7th to the Wizards, that's a great pick I'm surprised he didn't go sooner. Time to sim to 19. Here's who's available: PG Wesley Bolden DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 18 PG Wesley Bolden 6'1" 194 6'5" Texas 73 B INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS C- B+ D- D- C+ B- C- C- B+ Bolden is a decent athlete with 87 SPD, 70 ACC and 70 LQ, and his 95 Vertical and Posterizer Badges should make him an entertaining dunker. He can't shoot though, and he will need to work on his defense and passing. He's a pretty mediocre backup PG prospect. PG Chucky Norton DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 21 PG/SG Chucky Norton 6'5" 194 6'9" Arkansas 75 B- INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS C+ B- A+ F C- B D C+ B+ Norton has great size for a Guard and is probably the best 3 point shooter in this draft class. His 86 SPD, 80 ACC, 72 LQ make him a decent athlete. He'll need to work on his defense and passing, but he should be valuable because he can play either Guard spot. He has the Catch & Shoot badge. C Wenli Cherry DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 24 C Wenli Cherry 6'9" 237 6'8" China 68 A- INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS B C- F C D- D B- C D Cherry's on this list because he has the highest Potential Rating left in the draft. But he's undersized (that wingspan is not a typo), and isn't a very good defender. He's basically and undersized interior scorer because he can't shoot. I'm not sure I see much upside here except for his potential rating, but you can't fix his size. SG Allen Edwards DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 25 SF Allen Edwards 6'6" 209 7'2" Northwestern 69 B INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS C+ A- A+ D D+ C C- C+ C+ Edwards is a great shooter and has fantastic size for a Guard. He could probably play some minutes at the 3 if I need it. His 76 SPD, 69 ACC and 57 LQ aren't ideal for a Guard though. He does have the Catch & Shoot and Limitless Range badges. His potential to me is as a high end role player, I doubt he could ever be a starter because he's too slow. Norton's the only guy in this group that I think could ever progress to being a starter, so I think he has to be the pick. With the 19th pick in the NBA draft the Miami Heat select: PG/SG, Chucky Norton, Arkansas I'm hoping he can develop to become my starting PG someday. Only one pick for me left, in the 2nd round. I'm not going to go over the players available in the 2nd round. With the 33rd pick in the NBA draft the Miami Heat select: SF, Sammy Walker, Syracuse DE Rank Position Name Height Weight Wingspan School OVR Potential 33 SF Sammy Walker 6'8" 223 7'4" Syracuse 68 B INS MID 3PT INS D PER D PLMK REB IQ PHYS D D D+ C- B C C- C- C+ Defensive specialist. That concludes another draft. I'm disappointed I wasn't able to find a decent Center prospect, but I like the 3 guys I ended up with. MKnight82
Player/Team Options C Bam Adebayo (82) – $5.12 mil – for now he's my starting Center. PG Markelle Fultz (80) - $12.29 mil - He's seriously overpaid but for now he's my starting PG. SF Troy Brown Jr. (76) - $3.37 mil - Good prospect. Qualifying Offers PG Kyle Malone (73) - no offer – I might offer him a 2-way contract after free agency ends. C Brent Bishop (71) – no offer – I didn't draft him, he isn't very good. PG Adrian Leonard (71) - no offer - he also might get a 2-way contract.
MKnight82
Free Agency I need to sign a backup Center, and a Guard or two. SF Derrick Jones Jr. agreed to a 2-year, $6.00 mil extension. Athletic prospect, I'll probably flip him for a pick at some point. C Thon Maker (77) agreed to a 2-year, $16.00 mil contract. This is kind of pricey but he's a versatile guy. SG Avery Bradley (75) agreed to a 1-year, $2.75 mil contract. Brought him in to be a mentor on defense. PF Luc Mbah a Moute (74) agreed to a 1-year $2.75 mil contract. Mentor for Lynch. PG Trevon Duval (74) agreed to a 3-year $12 mil contract. This guy went undrafted in this year's draft, but looks like a good prospect. Kind of expensive but worth it. Major Contract Signings: PG Dejounte Murray – Spurs – 4 years, $110.82 mil (yikes) SF Brandon Ingram – Lakers – 4 years, $112.23 mil SF Ben Simmons - 76ers - 4 years, $112.23 mil SF Danilo Gallinari - Clippers -4 years, $55.81 mil (this is sneaky good value) SG Jaylen Brown - Celtics - 5 years, $144.75 mil (this feels like too much) C Montrezl Harrell - Clippers - 4 years, $80.27 mil PG Jamal Murray - Nuggets - 4 years, $101.34 mil PF Domantas Sabonis - Pacers - 4 years, $71.14 mil PF Pascal Siakam - Raptors - 3 years, $67.40 mil (too much for a role player) C Marc Gasol - Nets - 3 years, $79.63 mil (I highly doubt Gasol would go to Brooklyn IRL) C Demarcus Cousins - Bulls - 4 years, $156.12 mil (wow) PG Mike Conley - Grizzlies - 3 years, $78.31 mil C Tristan Thompson - Grizzlies - 3 years, $42.69 mil PF Tobias Harris - Pacers - 1 year, $20.62 mil PF LeMarcus Aldridge - Nets - 1 year, $18 mil (Nets gonna have oldest bigs in the league) Edited December 11, 2018 by MKnight82

Heat via Trailblazers (15.6%) 4. Wizards (9.0%) 5. Cavaliers (9.0%) Who’s it going to be….. My pick at 6 jumped into the top 3! The Cavs fell to 6, my other pick fell to 5. The Hawks fell all the way out to 4. The Wizards got 3, holy crap I got 2 & 1! Noooooooo. Wait I forgot the protections! Since it went in the top 3 the #2 pick stays with the Trailblazers, I still get #1 though. Edited December 11, 2018 by MKnight82
