Cearbhall
A new GM usually wants to bring in his own coach. It doesn't seem very far fetched to imagine Spielman being fired. I would fire him if he doesn't fix the offensive line this year.

vike daddy
Zimmer: “I never wanted to go anywhere. I’ll be here for 10 more years, I don’t care. I love this situation that we’re in. I never wanted to go anywhere; it was just one of those things. But I love it here, and I hope I can stay here for eight more years. Whatever. Until they kick me out, I guess.” https://www.vikings.com/news/combine-rewind-9-takeaways-from-week-in-indianapolis
whitehops
considering how long it took zimmer to get a head coaching gig i'm not surprised he wants to keep it going as long as he can.
VikeManDan
I love coach Zimmer, but he needs to string together back-to-back good seasons. To much inconsistency year to year, and yes I'm sure reasons can be pointed to. 2014: 7-9 2015: 11-5 2016: 8-8 2017: 13-3 2018: 8-7-1 Edited March 6, 2019 by VikeManDan

I was more implying 2016-2018, he has a right to figure things out his first few seasons. 2016 - we started 5-0, only to go 3-8 the rest of the way. 2018 - expectations were high and he's even admitted he made things too complicated on the defense early in the year.
vike daddy
NFL'S BEST COACHES 2019 1. Bill Belichick Career Record: 261-123 (.680) With The Patriots Since: 2000 Last Year’s Ranking: 1 2. John Harbaugh Career Record: 104-72 (.591) With The Ravens Since: 2008 Last Year’s Ranking: 6 9. Mike Zimmer Career Record: 47-32-1 (.594) With The Vikings Since: 2014 Last Year’s Ranking: 8 Mike Zimmer finally got a quarterback. He then promptly missed the playoffs. The Vikings were a curious 2018 tale. Despite turning Case Keenum into Kirk Cousins, they scored 22 fewer points than in 2017. That, coupled with allowing 89 more on defense dropped a 13-3 club to 8-7-1. Zimmer’s squad dominated non-playoff teams to the tune of 7-1-1 but were helpless against those who made the tournament, going 1-6. They were the definition of average. Part of Zimmer’s diagnosis was that he strayed too far from his roots. Desperate and disgusted, he pink slipped pass-happy OC John DeFilippo on December 11. Following the firing were wins over the hapless Dolphins and Lions before a season-ending suffocation against the Bears. Even with those inconclusive results, Zimmer removed fill-in OC Kevin Stefanski’s interim tag, making his 2019 intentions clear. More runs, fewer missed blocks, more big plays on defense. He is doubling down on Zimmer Ball as the rest of the league loads up on “Next McVays.” One of the NFL’s most focused, disciplined coaches, Zimmer’s track record suggests 2019 will not be another season of poor game plans and botched execution. 10. Ron Rivera Career Record: 71-56-1 (.559) With The Panthers Since: 2011 Last Year’s Ranking: 7 https://www.rotoworld.com/article/goal-line-stand/nfls-best-coaches-2019

vike daddy
The Vikings have extended the contract of General Manager Rick Spielman through the 2020 season, Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reports. The one-year extension through the 2020 season keeps him “synched up” with coach Mike Zimmer, Vikings president and co-owner Mark Wilf told Goessling. The Vikings picked up the option on Zimmer’s contract last month, extending him through 2020. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/26/vikings-extend-rick-spielmans-contract/

They all have expiring contracts in 2020.
