That has little to do with the concerns. Having burst and power and running behind your pads is either something you have or you don’t.

Sure, kind of. He shouldn’t be anywhere near 20 touches a game, probably ever. Again, what your asking of the kid are things be NEVER did before this year. Confidence and experience CAN help in all those area, and he is learning on the fly and being asked to carry a load he shouldn’t carry. Is he a natural running back? No.

so again I ask, what in the world are expectations?

Hit a hole with power. Hit a hole with speed. These aren’t about expectations. It’s about his skill set. He doesn’t have the skill set to do what’s needed right now so he shouldn’t be in there.

We are essentially down to our third and 4th string running backs. There are always going to be deficiencies when you go that far down the chart.

Completely agree.  Usually, NFL RB's have some sort of defined skill.  It doesn't look like Samuels has any skill set to be in the league besides catching the ball.  Which, fair enough, but he shouldn't be getting many carries going forward

I don’t disagree but the initial comment was establish the run. 3rd/4th RBs are JAGs. Can’t expect to establish the run with them.
