Yeah he’s solid, but he’s not stopping me from trying to upgrade if possible.

With Baker and Freddie we’ve seen a whole different WR group tbh.

I think Landry, Calloway and Higgins are solid players.  That leaves 2-3 roster spots left.

Perriman and Ratley should get a crack at them, obviously.

I’m also looking for a guy in the draft, likely on day two.

I don’t think Baker needs a Julio Jones/AJ Green type who can beat double teams, etc., just solid options who can consistently beat man coverage with proper schemes.

This could also be rehab project that Dorsey uses to get draft picks

I think we should do the following in no particular order:

1.) Pick up Kareem Hunt: He's too good and the instances that are coming out are ridiculously overblown in my opinion.

2.) Extend FS Randal.

3.) Re-sign all of the following to bargain type 2 or 3-year deals that will give us upside and stability while seeing who continues to improve and develop while also keeping us free to find better replacements in the draft if available: Greg Robinson, EJ Gaines, Breshad Perriman, and Trevon Coley.

4.) Tender the following RFA's: Rashard Higgins (original round - 5th) and Briean Boddy-Calhoun (Right of First Refusal).

5.) Add one key Defensive FA: Frank Clark, Grady Jarrett, Geno Atkins, Demarcus Lawrence, Jadeveon Clowney, C.J. Mosely, Bradley Roby, Ronald Darby, or Jason Verrett.

6.) Add one key Offensive FA: Odell Beckham Jr., Stefon Diggs, Tyler Lockett, Brandin Cooks, Taylor Lewan, or Rob Havenstein.

7.) Enter the draft being able to take the best player available, i.e. fill out roster needs with mid level/serviceable free agents.

8.) Target pass rushers, cornerback, and playmaking wide receivers early.

9.) Find the right Head Coach: I don't know if this is Mike McCarthy, Lincoln Riley, or someone else, but what I do know is we need to get it right.

I think one thing that will be important for us going forward is to build some continuity around our big playmakers and to keep key role players to firmly establish a culture of winning and camaraderie.

So here's the thing, though I agree with all of this as things I would like, we just don't have the money to do all this....

Though it is said we have 86 million dollars in cap space, that number is a little deceiving.

We are actually only 28 million dollars under the cap for next year, but we have 58 million dollars carrying over from the year before.

We are eventually going to have to extend and pay for our own players, so I worry about using up that carry over to sign a big name like Demarcus Lawrence or paying for Odell, when that might not help us as much as we thing.

Granted making some cuts like removing Jamie Collins from the equation would put us 10 million farther from the cap, but we also need to extend players like Randal, maybe even Joe Scho, to make sure they don't leave when were trying to build something.  Also bring back productive guys who will help us such as Perriman, Greg Robinson, and Gaines....

The most important thing we do this offseason is a head coach.  Past that if we get an interior pass rusher in the draft who can really push the pocket I could see Garrett, Avery and Ogbah doing a TON more damage on the outside.

I think we really need a Linebacker to replace Collins so I would be ALL for going after CJ Mosley as the one big piece, and then re-signing a CB such as Gaines or going after someone in the draft.

I think getting a BIG name person for the D AND a big name person for the O just isnt realistic though....

That is very true regarding the cap and need for us to resign our building blocks in the future. Overall, I think we could prioritize adding the defensive piece and continue to develop our guys on offense. What would be nice is if we added Kareem Hunt and made a move to transition Duke Johnson to a bigger role in the receiving game at SLOT and out of a dual backfield.

The best free agency signings are nailing the mid tier contracts. It is what new England has been excellent at.

If we can get another trance mitchell and to a lesser extent a TJ Carrie I'd be happy. Those guys have e made a big difference to our performance.

My number 1 low level contract would be cameron wake for 1 year and 5 million to rush on 3rd down.

If we got CJ Mosley it would be a clip also, especially with him on the outside.

He’d be interesting, but he’s gonna be 37 and has spent his whole career in MIA. Not sure he leaves...

Also, his numbers have taken a bit of a dive this year, wonder if Father Time is catching up to him.... finally.

He would be an upgrade as a rusher over what we have.

Rushers have a slow steady decline when compared to other positions.

You could be right though, he might totally suck.

We have done ok in the past picking up pass rush specialists, a part from a sack fumble by smith, he has been awful.

With how good Baker is pre and post snap you can go the Tom Brady route with his wrs.

Having 6 guys who are solid not spectacular.

Invest in the offensive line and the defense.

This is a great year to make everyone happy. There will be some excellent wide receiver value in the second round onward in the draft. We could get a second round talent in the fourth round, maybe even another late if they want to be deep this year at the position. I just personally love me some Odell, so he's a special exception to the rule, like Brady and Moss.

Odell has been beasting with a QB half as good as Baker. He could go 1500/15 next year with Baker.

I think we need an O line that can run block as well as pass block. Baker's barely been getting touched, but that can also be attributed to Baker's ability to move around in the pocket. He's making his O line look better than they are. It's when a run play is called that the warts show! They can't seem to get any push. But I will say "God bless JC Tretter!" He's been playing the whole season with a high ankle sprain. I've had a few of those, and they are a righteous *****! I couldn't set foot on a BASKETBALL court for a couple of months after one of those, and Tretter is trying to block 300lb linemen!

The defense needs to learn how to tackle! I just don't get it! I see our D guys bumping opponents with their shoulders and expecting them to fall down! Wrap up! Make a tackle! Jeez, how were you taught to play football?! And I see guys pulling up early. I don't like that. I'll take a penalty for over enthusiasm over someone who gives up too early!

And I look for another draft and free agency period to add to the depth of this team. The Browns are what I call "a mile wide and foot deep". The Browns have decent starting talent, but once you get past that, meh! "The next man up" doesn't hold a lot of water here.

Considering how much the Browns have improved this year, and with the faith I have in Dorsey and the rest of the front office, I'm hopeful for the future.

Odell signed a huge contract extension this past offseason
