I think it’s very possible that we get something like from that clip, where the humans have decided to use Kong to try to beat Godzilla because he’s too strong/destructive. After all, Mike Doughtery DID say the Oxygen Destroyer will play a pivotal role in the film and won't just make a cameo. They very well could be setting up Destoroyah in GvK. There has been plenty of speculation of who they are, but the pincers, as well as the mountain side erupting as well as some others have been speculated as more monsters in this film.
