And to add to this feeling, I think more and more that Trent Brown is coming back the closer we get to FA. Gostkowski is probably back as well but I won't be thrilled about that one.

I disagree.

I think both are gone right now while Gost comes back on a 4 APY deal.

I don't see a Shaquill Barrett signing either.

I think Bill is very content collecting 2 comp. 3rd round picks in 2020 for Flowers and Brown so that he can now trade away his 3rd round pick of 2020 along with another 2020 mid round pick or one of his comp. picks from this years draft to acquire several immediate impact players on cheap deals. I think he will sign a veteran DE as Flowers replacement but only for a cheap deal to not offset the Flowers deal in regards to comp. picks.

I think that's what's going to happen and I think it's extremely smart.

Getting a real 1v31 feel this off season. All part of some grand plan. I'm imagining Roger sitting behind a desk, in the dark, talking to his beleagured assistant....

"Sir, Miami is going to hire their DC. They're also looking into their contacts at the police about setting up a minor scandal."

"We need someone to overpay Trey Flowers & Trent Brown. "

"Jags are on it."

"Both of them? What about their salary cap?"

"Honestly, I'm not sure they know what that is."

"Fine...fine. What about Gostkowski?"

"Gruden's gonna make him the highest paid kicker."

"...and Gronk? I want a hot girl with him at all times, talking about how great retirement is. Night and day. Got it?"

"Got it sir. We also have planted a bro with him sir. His job is to buy Gronk beer and dare him to try outlandish feats of strength."

"Nice work. Who's in charge of over-drafting Isabella? It's vital we cut their supply of short white guys."

"It's looking like the Bills are taking him mid-first sir."

"Make sure it's early first - we can't afford a surprise trade up."

"Of course sir....but...what about the GOAT sir?"

"Ah yes...the goat. I have contacted the Giants, Brady lives in their neighbourhood - we need them to send out guys to every new-age healthfood store in the Village and start injecting avocados with steroids. Then we do the "random drug test!"

"A brilliant plan Mr Goodell."

Alone in the dark, Goodell turns to stare out the window.

"Not this time, Patriots....not this time."

can anyone tell me why we aren't paying flowers? he's essential to this team.. why we gotta be bogus with our vets.

We didn't pay Chandler either. Market for pass rushers seems to be something Belichick will never throw his money in. And I'm going to say because it's one of his alpha positions in terms of developing players there....

I like Flowers, but he's peaked as a player and he isn't worth what money some team is going to throw at him.
