Ok. Let's look at the favorites and assume they all play out with no upsets.

Week 16

Broncos @ Raiders

Week 17

Dolphins @ Bills

Lions @ Packers

Jets @ Patriots

Panthers @ Saints

Jags @ Texans

Cowboys @ Giants

Falcons @ Bucs

Raiders @ Chiefs

Cardinals @ Seahawks

49ers @ Rams

Chargers @ Broncos

Bears @ Vikings

Browns @ Ravens

Eagles @ Redskins

Bengals @ Steelers

Colts @ Titans

That puts the top of the draft as follows, treating ties as a half win to calculate win percentages.

1. Arizona Cardinals 3-13 (.525)

2. Oakland Raiders 3-13 (.550)

3. New York Jets 4-12 (.508) : 5-11, 7-9, 7-8-1, 5-11, 7-9, 10-6, 9-6-1, 11-5, 7-9, 5-11, 11-5, 9-7, 5-11, 11-5, 7-8-1, 11-5

New SOS: 127-126-3 (.502)

4. San Francisco 49ers 4-12 (.504) : 9-6-1, 5-11, 12-4, 12-4, 3-13, 7-8-1, 13-3, 3-13, 3-13, 5-11, 5-11, 10-6, 7-9, 10-6, 11-5, 13-3

New SOS: 128-126-2 (.504)

5. Detroit Lions 5-11 (.504) : 4-12, 4-12, 11-5, 10-6, 7-8-1, 7-9, 10-6, 9-6-1, 11-5, 6-10, 11-5, 13-3, 3-13, 5-11, 9-6-1, 7-8-1

New SOS: 127-125-4 (.504)

6. Buffalo Bills 5-11 (.525) : 10-6, 12-4, 9-6-1, 7-8-1, 9-7, 11-5, 10-6, 11-5, 11-5, 3-12, 5-11, 7-9, 4-12, 5-11, 11-5, 7-9

New SOS: 132-123-1 (.518)

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-11 (.521) : 14-2, 9-7, 9-6-1, 11-5, 7-9, 7-8-1, 6-10, 6-10, 7-9, 5-11, 4-12, 6-10, 14-2, 10-6, 10-6, 7-9

New SOS: 132-122-2 (.520)

8. New York Giants 5-11 (.525) : 5-11, 10-6, 11-5, 14-2, 6-10, 9-7, 7-9, 7-9, 4-12, 5-11, 9-7, 11-5, 7-9, 9-7, 10-6, 10-6

New SOS: 134-122 (.523)

9. Jacksonville Jaguars 5-11 (.544) : 5-11, 11-5, 9-7, 4-12, 12-4, 10-6, 11-5, 9-7, 10-6, 9-6-1, 5-11, 10-6, 9-7, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5

New SOS: 139-117 (.543)

10. Carolina Panthers 6-10

11. Cincinnati Bengals 6-10

So just losing isn't enough to keep the six spot.

The Jets and 49ers pulling off upsets week 17 doesn't help us at all. Even at 5-11, they'd each have a better (or worse) SOS.

A Lions win @ Green Bay moves us up. And not having played either team doesn't help/hurt our SOS. Since both the Lions and Packers played Buffalo, it doesn't change their SOS either. So we slide back up to six and Buffalo slides up to five.

If the Bills beat the Dolphins, we move up. Since we didn't play the Dolphins or the Bills, it doesn't change our SOS. The Lions played both the Bills and the Dolphins, so their SOS doesn't change either. So we would simply slide back up to six and the Lions would stay at five.

Obviously, if they both win we move up to five.

tl;dr - The worst we could do with a loss is fall to seven. The best we can probably hope for is to move up to five. I'm not going through all that to see what happens if we win. 😂

How has my boy Vea looked of late?

He moves people. If he played guard he'd be a monster in the run game. 😂

He actually slides off blockers a lot better now than he did a month or so ago. And it's showing on the stat sheet. He's getting pressure and pushing the pocket pretty well. And he's starting to become a huge factor in the run game; more than just holding his ground and making RBs pick a side. He's making tackles around the LOS.

So he is finally comfortable

Vea has played extremely well.  His rookie stats are comparable to the rookie yrs of Sapp and GMC.  Considering the amt of time he missed to start the season that is pretty impressive.  Hopefully the bust label or 2 down player is finally over.

****, I feel like after the top 7 or 8 there's a big drop offs for D-lineman. Be nice to get the 7th at this point. With Herbert not coming out I'm not feeling any of the other QBs. I'm still hoping for a Derek Carr trade.

Fingers crossed we stay inside the blue chip bracket. Is it just me or do we always seems to be one or two picks away from the higher end guys?

I mean we should be able to get a great player wherever we pick in the 1st, but for the guys being touted as top tier then a loss would help us get there. Williams, Oliver, Allen, etc.
