I'd feel so bad for you guys if they finally moved on from Marvin Lewis only to replace him with a loser like Hue Jackson.

I don't even think mike brown is that stupid

If that happens I will be so done caring about this team.

Well he was stupid enough to hold on to Marv when he had Zimmer just waiting in the wings...

Unfortunately, Marvin will be nack.  Hue as OC, Joseph as DC.  Andy will be the QB as Marvin will be in no mood to rebuild.

I never more desperately wish you're wrong.

My nightmare scenarios:

  1. Marvin is back
  2. Marvin is out, and Hue is named HC in the same presser
  3. Bengals announce they'll be taking a few weeks to "think about it"
    • Marv is back
  4. Marvin is out, and another internal candidate is hired

One of those things alone is already too likely to happen for my liking.  But all together, it's probably more than 50%.  Makes me sick.

They can only get me to care again if they make a hire outside the team.  I'd even be ok with Vance Joseph, though he's maybe not my first choice.  But otherwise, i'm out too.

Now that Marvin is fired, what does your short list for Head Coaches look like?  Here's mine:

  • Lincoln Riley: Yes, I know it's unrealistic but worth exploring.
  • Vic Fangio: One of the few truly great defensive minds in the NFL.  Also, one of the few defensive coordinators I would approve of.
  • Gary Kuback: I never thought he was the problem in Denver and one thing he specializes in is the OL/blocking scheme.  I love me some trench guys.
  • Matt LaFleur: I liked what he's done in Tennessee and he comes from a solid coaching tree.
  • Matt Campbell: Loved what he's done at Iowa State.  I think he's innovative and worth giving a shot.  Ohio born as well.
  • Freddie Kitchens: Weaken a division rival and get a talented OC
