Sorry, bruce. Thomas gets fired up about the Codfish, and I don't blame him.

To your point, if Thomas and I were co-HCs, Hue would have gotten the axe and there would be debate as to whoever the OC who turned Cody around should be made coach.

Because offense is outpacing defense in the NFL at large, leading to FAR more offensive HC's being hired. Meaning that it is far more likely that an OC gets poached to be a HC than a DC. In addition, there's plenty of evidence lately about the importance of the OC/HC/QB continuity and relationship. So by going with an offensive HC, you guarantee the continuity there, where a defensive HC means an OC being poached can change the continuity of the offense. As the reactive entity on the field, defensive continuity would certainly seem to be less important (though certainly not useless).
