Bolles just needs to stop being a meathead. As a LT he has improved markedly but as was said earlier he can’t let mistakes compound one another and make a bad situation worse. He’s like a relief pitcher who lets one bad pitch that gets hit over the fence turn into a six-run inning.

So he's Aroldis Chapman. Got it. Thanks Dan

On the plus side, we score.

On the down side, we then give up the 2 pt conversion on a pick-2....can't be late, can't be inside.    SMH.

Then allow a TD drive on the following possesion when we really need a stop. That also sums up this season.

Boy these annoucners are parroting the Klis article from earlier in the week and keep making excuses for Vance and Keenum.

Really worried both are going to end up being retained.

Elway would be making a major mistake by retaining Vance. He can't afford to.

Well, let's get this over with....

The Good

1.  Our D - man, nothing but respect for showing up, and trying right up to the end.   They really had no reason to keep trying after the O literally killed us.   Just to be clear - the O gave up AS MANY points as they scored today.   The D just wore down at the end.

2.  The young kids - listen, they aren't core elements to our success, they can't be the central figures when week 1 in 2019 starts.  But we need depth guys to play well in depth roles.   Guys like Hamilton as our slot guy (although dude that one drop was a killer), Patrick as our #4 guy, Holland as our 3rd EDGE (Barrett's said he wants to start next year - so he's as good as gone), Yiadom as our 3rd CB.   And with the exception of the Hamilton drop, they all did their job.

The Bad

1.  OL - it wasn't just 1 guy - our entire OL had huge problems today.  I think the final tally was 8 holding penalties (although 1-2 might have been ST).  That's just inexcusable.

2.  Sutton - Before ppl get too worked up, I'm not saying he's a bad player. He just didn't play well today.   The dropped bomb was huge, but he also had a clear chance to get Hayward down on that 2-pt conversion.    He's still got a ton of potential, but as the #1 WR, he's got a lot of work to do.  It's unfair, because he was really not supposed to take over #1 role until 2020.  But that's what we need from him now.    And sadly, today and the games since Sanders went down do show there's still a fair amount of work left to do.  It's why Sanders was the perfect bridge as the WR1 in 2019.  Man...

The Ugly

1.  Who Else....#4 - man, words aren't even enough.   He was just so bad....again.    Sadly, we are likely stuck with him in some shape or form for 2019.  SMH.

2.  Lack of opportunism - the game basically ended after the pick-2/TD - but in reality, if this game mattered, the real turnaround was our D turning the ball over 2x at midfield - and then the O getting 0 points from those 2 drives.   And then the wiped out TD from the holding call / 2nd holding call / awful fumble-6 in 3 successive plays.   While it was "only" 7-0 LAC, on a different O, we're still leading, or at worst, tied after giving up 1 score.

The bottom line was today was a perfect microcosm of our 2019 seaon for the O - the final score should have actually read, LAC 14, DEN D 0, since the O gave up as many points as they scored today.   Man.

Still, I won't end our final game of the season on a low note - we've got a bunch of cheap young talent, and we've been able to clear more cap health as a result of the DT trade and likely will clear a lot of space.  We just need to realize that we are still nowhere near a legitimate contender until we fix QB, and we'll still need upgrades at OL and a true WR1, another shutdown CB, and more overall roster depth to withstand the injuries every team gets - and sadly, there are no easy 2019 QB solutions available.  Maybe there's magic somewhere (CFL Bo Levi Mitchell is cheap!  Still a flyer but hey, go cheap and look everywhere you can, Elway), but if not, well, let's continue to build the rest of the team cheaply and young.
