2018-2019 Offseason Thread (Season Concludes)

Well, let’s start some offseason talk, I’ll use this thread for the draft picks, offseason signing, all free agents, and anything else arrives with the team.

Kirk/Kurt, we need improvement, I’m not sure what has to happen. 4,000 yards is good, but we just didn’t score. I am fine with “overpaying” a QB, but the results this season have to improve.

OC search begins, I believe Stefanski will end up out OC, am I thrilled? No, but I’m not upset.

What has to happen next season to improve? let’s hear some thoughts on this, thoughts on players/coaching staff.

One thing to remember with the interior offensive line. We thought we had Easton coming back, and I don’t think anyone thought Remmers could be this incredibly bad as a RG

If Easton comes back, I still think we need two guards.

I did, and never trusted Easton coming back. This was 100 percent predictable. Spielman has been GM for how long? When has the line been good?

As for Zimmer,I don't think he's good, but I expect him and the GM to be here next year, alas.

Changes certainly need to happen.

Spielman should lose his job, without a doubt. This is his roster, and the Cousins decision was his and it failed in year one. But more importantly, the offensive line continues to be the Achilles heal, and it hasn’t been fixed since he became the GM.

I’m ready to move on from Zimmer. I like his defense, but he’s not a good head coach. This team continues to struggle in big games, and that includes the defense. Not just Cousins. I truly believe, for Zimmer to improve as a HC, he needs to turn over the defensive play calling. Whether that’s to George Edwards, or someone else.

Absolutely agree, but I think we would of saw more out of Easton to help the team where we needed it.

offensive line will be interesting to see what we do.

Outside of O’Neil I don’t believe anybody is truely “safe”  next year

I agree with most of this, but I still don’t see Spielman or Zim leaving in year one of signing Kirk.

Zim giving Edwards full playcalling privilege I do like and I believe it should happen.

I think Reiff and Elflein are safe as well.  We are stuck with Reiffs contract and Elflein will get a full offseason healthy to show what he can do

I truely believe the only way this team will improve is if we don’t play scared on offense. I’m not taking about DeFlippo throwing the ball 50 times a game, but be original.

We arent that fast of a team on offense.

I love what the bears do to help Trubisky, along with the Rams and Chiefs. Motions, moving players around. Using speed to beat people and using motions to make reads.

Our defense didn’t come up huge this past game, but they aren’t what made us lose, we still only gave up 24 points in a scoring league.

Offense is still the issue, line is a problem, but it’s not all of it. We need something or someone who can open it up. Thielen and Diggs are good, but they still rely on double moves. Cook is good, but damnit I’ll put that on the offensive line.

We need some more true speed. You look into any successful offense right now they have it.

Rams: Cooks

Chiefs: Hill

Now to free agents, I want so say let Barr walk and put that money into the offensive line, but that just won’t work. Nobody is there to save us.

Barr must be resigned, we are all whining about not having an offensive line, but next year we will be without a LB to play at his level. And it’s just another option for us to draft that will be outside the offensive line.

Something has to change, and I’m still putting 75% of our season on the play of our offense. We are stuck with Kirk, but we have to continue to give him the best chance possible to succeed. Offensive line, and another weapon with speed should be crucial this offseason.
