This year's class is loaded with defensive linemen. I want to watch some tape on Ed Oliver, Quinnen Williams, Clelin Ferrell, Josh Allen, and Jachai Polite. We need to find a difference maker with all of our early picks if we want to be competitive soon.

I'd be happy with:

4th: Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Clemson

24th: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

28th:  Taylor Rapp, S, Washington

36th: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

Is DK better than Harry??

Why Ferrell at 4?  That’s one of the few picks I would absolutely hate.

I'm officially on the Oliver wagon.  Originally I was fairly cold on him as I was all about Bosa and Williams, but after locking pick 4 up I started paying more attention to him.  I am fully convinced he could play at at exceedingly high level at DE day one.  I have no doubt that after Bosa, Oliver is the #2 DE and by a large margin.  I was watching him in movement drills and he freakin moves like a 280 DB.

At#4 I want Oliver.

I also want Dexter Lawrence with our 2nd 1st round pick.  I think his suspension drops him right into our lap and is really a non-issue to me.  NT might not be the biggest need, but we need impact players and he is a MONSTER.  He's not just a space eater, but actually has pass rush ability.  Think Chris Jones type.

Oliver, Lawrence, Hurst and Hall/Key would be a damn fine D line.  Key had issues due to overuse, so let him be a pass rush specialist.  However, If I was in the FO, I'd go hard after whichever impact DE hits FA even if it means overpaying.  Think of a

base: Oliver, Hurst, Lawrence, Clark (just throwing out a name)

Short yardage: Oliver, Lawrence, Jelly, Hall

Pass D: Key, Oliver, Hurst, Clark

Round out our early draft with:

LB Devin Bush and safety Taylor Rapp

I think we all agree we need to get WR, DE, MLB, S we are just debating the prospects... we should be able to attack these spots with the first 4 picks, we could also add a nice TE in a deep class in the 3rd....

Agreed.. Don't forget rb. Martin had some nice games but his fumbling will drive me nuts

Yes.  I'll be watching some shortly.  After a 4 minute highlight video I am going to tell you that I hope we do not pick C. Ferrell with the 4th pick.  I will also watch other highlight videos and provide intelligent, indepth insight on several other prospects.

Atleats a 2nd this year to recoup the one we gave to the Bears with Mack

Just to give some context.

Last year the Jets moved from 6th to 3rd to take Darnold. They gave up two 2nds in that draft and one 2nd in this year's draft. Moved up 3 spots.

And in 2017, in exchange for the 2nd pick in the draft to take Trubisky, the Bears gave SF the 3rd pick along with a 3rd and 4th rd pick that year and a 3rd rd pick in 2018. Moved up one spot.

But like was said it has a ton to do with the teams bidding vs each other and the QBs value.

So Oliver is a de? I don’t think that’s his best position I like him at ut in a 4-3.

keys problem is he runs a 4.9 40 he will never be able to chase down qbs and always seems to be a second slow to the qb. It wasn’t overuse imo he’s just not that fast and qbs are getting faster. I like him as a rotational dL who will excel as a de with a edge guy on his outside shoulder. Key will never succeed as a wide 9 type or on the edge imo.

Key, like most rookies needs to get stronger. He was able to pressure the QB, but struggled making the tackle. Remember, even Mack only had 4 sacks as a rookie. It takes it time to come together.
