Chili Posted February 27, 2019 Share Posted February 27, 2019 I suspect the reason LaFleur backed off after Shanahan blocked the move instead of continuing to pursue his brother was simply out of respect to his friend rather than as a result of lacking patience. I'm glad we got Hackett though as I think his personality is much needed in our coaching room. We got Hackett knowledge of his father's offence, LaFleur's knowledge of Shanahan's offence and Getsy's knowledge of McCarthy's offence. That's three different perspectives from different offshoots of the Walsh tree and it allows us the opportunity to blend all those concepts together to create something that works for Rodgers. LaFleur list of coordinator candidates probably were: 1. Arthur Smith 2. Mike LaFleur 3. Mike McDaniel 4. Nathaniel Hackett I suspect Todd Monken was recommended by Gute/Murphy rather than as someone that would've been on LaFleur's original list. Darrell Bevell, Pat O'Hara, Jeremy Bates, Rich Scangarello, Dowell Loggains may've been on the list too but thankfully we didn't need to go that far down.
