2019 Draft Mocks

We still have a few weeks of football to play. But, I can't help myself and I'm getting started!

My assumption here is that we either re-sign or franchise Ford and then re-sign Butker, Kemp, Conley, Lucas, Reiter, Bailey, Harris, Nelson, Sherman, and Devey.

We let Deiter, Hamilton, Yelder, Smith, Morse, Parker, Scandrick, Ware, DAT, Allen, and Zombo walk.

1. Deionte Thompson S Alabama (Montez Sweat my personal BPA here was available. But our current roster makeup and need at S made me go Thompson)

2. Mack Wilson LB Alabama (The LBer we need)

2. Michael Jackson CB Miami (Position of need but I don't know enough about Jackson)

3. Lil'Jordan Humphry WR Texas (Under-rated WR and we don't have any under contract after 2 years)

5. Caleb Wilson TE UCLA (Don't know enough about him, but potential position of need)

6. Keegan Render C Iowa (OL depth with letting guys walk)

6. Daelin Hayes DL Notre Dame (Great DL draft, I wish someone was available earlier. Ideally we pick 2)

7. Isaiah Prince OT Ohio State (Depth and hopefully a future replacement for Fisher, but doubtful)

Using "on the clock" simulator, with "nfl mock" ranking.

1/30. Mack Wilson, ILB, Alabama

2/62. Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn. St.

2/63. Taylor Rapp, FS, Washington

3/94. Elgton Jenkins, C, Miss. St.

I was sorely tempted to pick 2 LB's early. Our tackling and run defense really need help up the middle. They'll be available early where we have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds.

I really want David Montgomery out of Iowa State

Might cost a first or 2nd, but he's just what we need at RB. Reminds me of Kareem Hunt. Elusiveness, tackle breaking ability, moves, toughness, decent pass catcher, etc.

I think he would do well in a shotgun-centric offense like ours.

I like him.  Big fan of Devin Singletary as well, his game looks very similar to Hunt too.

I got bored and did another, but only three rounds. Every single guy I got here I think would be a great addition that could provide an impact year one and beyond.

1. Mack Wilson, LB Alabama (first round went nearly all DL/Edge)

2. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S Florida (still early in the process, but he may be my favorite S prospect right now)

2. Joejuan Williams, CB Vanderbilt (big potential imo. just needs refinement but could compete for 3rd or 4th)

3. TJ Hockenson, TE Iowa (Good/great at run blocking and can catch, not one dimensional)

Earl Thomas can be had after this season prob.  Not sure how what it would cost to get him and sign him but easier than before this season when I first wanted him and trade rumors swirled.

He hinted pretty hard that he wanted to go to Dallas. He'll be 30 so he'd definitely be a win now kind of signing, which I wouldn't be against as long as it isn't a Watkins type deal.

Three rounds is a good cutoff. We have no native 4th and the first 100 picks are much more settled than 101-200.

1. Mack Wilson, ILB, Alabama

2a. Connor McGovern, OG, Penn State

2b. Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware

3. Dennis Daley, OL, South Carolina

I wanted a CB, but none were likely available without moving.

That dude is an ANIMAL! I think he has more wiggle than Hunt. He doesn't seem to have that high end speed but more than enough.

I would be soooo pissed if we did that. Especially with Zach Allen being available and going next. I see a lot of TJ Watt in his play from when I was scouting Watt in 2017.
