BDL Discussion Thread 2019

It's pretty much either he or his wife (girlfriend?) did it, they just don't know who. Either way, he either did it or was complicit. I don't really see how a situation like this can go without punishment lol.

if he's not being charged I mean is there a doubt that maybe he's actually guilty?

His kid has been taken away already, so he's already seen as an unfit parent.

Yo're mind is already made up, but that's not really how it works.  If you want, read the thread in the mains, there's some good posts from people who have a background in social work/family law.

My mind was made up when he beat up and choked the mother of his child while she was carrying. So yea, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt here my friend. Good on you for believing in 3rd chances though.

I hope it works out for the kid.

There's a long list of those in the NFL.  Don't care in regards to BDL.

Man, you guys have gone full judge injury.  He wasn't charged.

Not judging at all. I have made my fair share of mistakes, never abuse, but mistakes none the less. Having said that, I dont agree with his actions and I dont believe he should be permitted to make millions of dollars while his son is put into the system and has his life become utter chaos.

Beyond that, it is for the real judges to decide what should be done with them.

It's just the final year's base Salary, whichever is higher. It always has been.

@PR I was at work when I posted this and didn't have access to the guidelines. So I was mistaken. The rules currently say the following.

  • 5th Year Options (all year long)

    • Option 1 - If a real life NFL 1st round player is tendered their 5th year option a team can match it at 100% without using one of their 3 Ups for the year if they player is a BDL UFA.

    • Option 2 - If a team wants the can average the higher of BDL players Salary or their NFL Rookie Average with the total of the 5th year option and spread it over 2 years to satisfy the 5th year contract.

So it would be $14,884/2 years for Goff.

Now I'm pretty sure that I can get my 75% 5th year extension thing passed and that would be $17,087/1 next year. but I understand if you don't want to bet on that.

Just watch ole Roger Dodger figure out a way.

But he will be lynched for it, and you gave up a 1st rounder for him. Congrats.
