While they are not exactly the same type as Zardarius Smith or Pernell McPhee, I wonder if they can replicate some of the things they did with those guys buy using Zieler and Henry. I just think Urban was such a good player for us the last two years that it would be stupid not to keep a guy like that.

Other than that I still think we should look at pass rush from whatever position and interior oline. Then we add receivers and complimentary pieces.

I am watching the Falcons game again. Kenneth Dixon carried som significantly bad weight this year. I wonder how he can improve if he sheds that bad weight and get slimmer and more explosive. We have two physical backs know, and I can't help thinking they might want to see if they can work Dixon into another type of runningback than he was last year.

The thing is if you bring back Brent you're pretty much locking in the defensive line rotation as Williams, Pierce, Henry, and Urban (barring major injury). That's not a bad thing by any stretch but It's not exactly one that does provide any oomph rushing the passer. Willie is good at getting to the QB but he's not carry-the-whole-line good. If the idea is to not draft a pass-rushing DL high then it makes some sense, but otherwise... eh.

I'd like to see someone like Seiler get a real opportunity but lets be real here. If you're not in that top four group then you're not a part of the rotation. Spot snaps at best aren't going to let anybody make an impact. Martindale was better than his predecessors at getting the fourth DL involved but never more than that. For him, or Wormley to get a shot the team has to do nothing at defensive line in the draft or free agency or at least one major injury has to occur at that position.

We were so healthy last year, and good teams keep stacking good players. Urban is a really good player and if he doesn't have a market, I can't find a reason not to bring him back, nevertheless that someone on the defensive line has to play better to force themselves into the lineup.

^^ZDS talking about how the drafting of Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser "Made him feel a type of way". Pushed him, I guess.

So by transitive property, we need to draft 2 more OLB's so that Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser will "feel a type of way" and become studs in their contract years, too?

I was laughing the other day thinking about Courtney Upshaw. There you have a guy, who we take 35th overall. And in 2 seasons with us. He plays 1,384 regular season snaps - to the tune of 3 Sacks.

With him, you didn't have all these morons so confidently spewing negativity. Yet with Bowser and Williams- that's all you get.

On 567 Regular Season Snaps, that's both of their totals combined, they dropped 5.5 Sacks.

Just how Upshaw was a specialist against the run, Bowser is a specialist in coverage- one of his major selling points. You don't see any mention of that though.

Bowser and Williams had Suggs, ZDS, and Judon in front of him. No one will contend that either of the 3 are anything but good players, but the majority of people will condemn Tim & Tyus for not...what? Unseating them? It's just a ridiculous conversation.

I can't wait to see the spin put on them this season when they both drop 10+ Sacks.

Person 1: "I though they sucked bro, what's up?".

Person 2: "Well...they did suck... they just you know..developed..yea, that's right...they finally developed heheh"

*haymaker to the jaw*

Person 3: "OMG!, why did you hit that man?" "He's not moving.."

Person 1: "Why?" "Why?!!!!" "Because I'm an irrationally angry fan that's too invested, and you're F'in next!!".
