Around The League V.2

They were running the ball very well against the Rams? Their backs had 22 carries for 120 yards and 41 of those yards came on the very first play of the game. After that they had 21 carries for 79 yards (3.7 ypc) so I wouldn't say they were running the ball well. The following week against the Bengals their backs had 22 carries for 67 yards. And in both games their offensive line gave up 3 sacks.

The Bears offensive line is terrible and the Browns, who have one of the best defenses in the league, came after Fields. He was sacked 9 times on 29 drop backs. The score was 10-3 at half time and the Bears received the ball to start the second half. They started the half with 3 straight pass plays, 2 incompletions and a sack. And David Montgomery only had 3 carries the entire second half.

Fields struggles yesterday were primarily because Nagy failed to protect his rookie QB with easy throws and leaning on the run game. Instead he asked him to beat one of the best teams in the league by pushing the ball down the field and they feasted on him behind the Bears terrible offensive line.

Chicago will be fine, they need to move on from Nagy/Pace and hire a competent GM and HC. They need Teven Jenkins back instead of relying on a 40 year old LT to protect their QB's blind side. But they have pieces in place, Montgomery is one of the best RB in the league, Robinson is one of the best WRs in the league and they have a few other interesting young weapons and solid young OL as well.

22 carries for 120 is good against the rams.

Thats another thing to consider: Why do you think they go from giving up 3 sacks against the rams to giving up 8 sacks against the browns with the same O line. There are good reasons for this:

Historically teams blitz rookies because they know most of them dont know how to read NFL defenses yet. This causes them to hold the ball more(especially running qbs because they are eager to take off and find a rushing lane).

When you have a Vet Qb the tend to be able to A. know the system better B. read defenses which leads to them getting rid of the football quicker.

also if you actually watch every throw youll see that that there were easy throws to be made but fields wasnt seeing the field.

And yea of course they need to get rid of pace and nagy it was there idea trade 2 first round picks and a 3rd to pay mack big money then push the money back thinking they were going to the SB. Now the reality is they neglected other. key positions like Oline so now 2 year they cant protect their young qb(who everyone thought was going to justify them doing so) because in reality the cant afford it.

Yeah I'm watching it right now too. It's good to know that they're not a good team but at the same time that's not gonna matter when we played them we'll find a way to keep it interesting....

In my prediction thread before the season started, it was the only game I had the Raiders winning a blowout in. 34-6. The Eagles will be a Bottom 3 team this year, even with the Week 1 performance.

Eagles Dline will be a problem for the Raiders Oline. You can count on that. Hargrave and Cox are going to push around the interior Oline for 60 minutes.

Yep, they looked good against the pass at least although Dallas was able to run on them almost at will.  Luckily they have so many other weaknesses and a HC that looks to be in over his head. Hurts could be on a low with confidence after their schedule the next few weeks too.
