I could see someone going for it if they had a first to spare. But nobody that needs him has that. And he's pushing the age limit. A 1st for, what, 2 years of elite play? That would be considered a bust.

Maybe 2-3 years ago, but he's been to wishy-washy on retirement for me to go all in like that.

Half the guys where want Brady and the logic is the same. IDk if you’re the jets and really all you need is that QB I think it’s worth it to maybe get to that first Super Bowl in 60 years.

And we've seen teams like the Rams and Buccaneers have success after making a move for a veteran QB upgrade.

Stafford may have been an upgrade for the Rams' specific purposes, but I still think the Lions got the better end of the bargain overall. I think the relationship between Goff and the organization melted down beyond repair, but I don't think the 2021 Rams needed to give up what they did to win a Superbowl.

As for the Bucs, I cannot wait for Brady to retire so people stop associating Brady with any sort of norm. They signed a 43 year old starting QB to a substantial contract. It worked out, yeah, but the likelihood we will ever see anything remotely close to Brady again in our lifetime is practically nil.

As for Rodgers, he's close to that point. A team that is set for a short run and only needs a good QB (Dolphins, for example) it may make sense for. But he's old and his play isn't the same and he's practically year to year lease at this point. Dude should've left GB a couple of years ago. Short of replacing Tom in Tampa, Tua in Miami, or maybe Kirk in Minnesota (not gonna happen), I don't think anyone is going to get a good deal with Rodgers these days. My gut tells me Washington or Indianapolis may be options, both of whom miiiiight fall into the Miami/Tampa category. But I think both are destined for 3rd place finishes in their division for a couple of years and fighting for a 7th seed berth regardless of who they have at QB.

The Rams plateaued with Goff and they couldn't really run their offense the way that they wanted too. Stafford's elite arm talent and willingness to push the ball down field really opened up their playbook for McVay.

Tom Brady is definitely a major outlier but we also saw Peyton Manning switch teams and win a Super Bowl at the end of his career.

Meh, I think Rodgers is still one of the elite guys in the league. His production wasn't great this season but he was dealing with a thumb issue for a good portion of the season and had to depend on two rookie receivers. He won back to back MVP's and the Packers were the 1 seed in the NFC last season. The Jets make a lot of sense for Rodgers as well, they have a top 5 defense, a decent offensive line, and some really intriguing young skill position players in Wilson, Hall, etc.

Considering the Colts lack of stability (they're probably hiring Saturday, lulz) and limited supporting cast outside of Jonathan Taylor, I'm not sure why Rodgers would be interested in playing there. The Colts have been the most overrated team in the league for years.

If you look at the 4 teams remaining, what's the one thing that they have in common? They've all invested a ton of resources into their OL / DL.

They have coaches who spent time in LA?

Andy Reid- hometown

Zac Taylor- Rams WR and QB coach

Kyle Shanahan- UCLA grad assistant

Nick Sirianni- Chargers WR coach

Latest reports suggesting that DeMeco Ryans will be the next Texans HC.

Denver is having a disaster here. The new owners said they wanted a high profile name, and originally the favorite for the job was Jim Harbaugh, but he then decided to stay at Michigan. Then their top choice became Sean Payton, who didn’t take long to distance himself from the job. Then they were all in for Ryans - oops, maybe not. Another one of their rumored top choices was Dan Quinn and he’s staying with Dallas.

Nobody wants anything to do with the Russell Wilson mess, even with a potentially huge salary available from the Walmarts. Hilarious.

The whole saga has been of Great Value to us, for sure.

Well, that depends upon the destination. A well organised team that gets two years of elite play could win the Super Bowl and a first would be a bargain then, especially if it’s a team that has never won one or has had a massive drought like the Jets or Washington or Miami. That’s assuming he still had elite play left in him, he looked a level below this year although his weapons weren’t great so it’s hard to judge accurately.

So just throwing this out there to see if anybody thinks this would be a dirty play.  The TD sneak by Hurts right now just made me think about these slow sneaks where the refs just let it keep going and have offensive players push the QB from behind.  Why not line up your biggest hitter at the back of the endzone and allow him ten yards to build up some steam and blow up the QB.  He might still score but you might also have to bring in your back up QB for the next series.  I doubt they will want to take to many shots like that.  Imagine giving a 250 lb LB ten yards to hit you when you are almost standing still.
