* Draft Philip Rivers, then trade him after week 8 for Russell Wilson. Wilson's fantasy PPG between 2014 and 2016 went from 16.3 in the first half of the season to 20.8 in the second half.  Conversely, Rivers's fantasy PPG went from 18.9 to 13.7.

* In 19 starts with Sammy Watkins, Tyrod Taylor averaged 8.8 yards per attempt and had a 24:7 TD:INT ratio.  In 10 starts without Watkins, Taylor had a 6.27 YPA and 14:6 TD:INT ratio.  With Jordan Matthews banged up (and a mere slot receiver when healthy), Anquan Boldin retiring, and Zay Jones a rookie, it's hard to envision Taylor as a starting-caliber fantasy QB anymore.

* The most mystifying home/road case is Ben Roethlisberger.  In 20 home starts since 2014, he is averaging 332 passing yards, 2.8 TDs, and 0.9 INT.  In 25 road starts in that time frame, his averages drop to 269 yards, 0.96 TD, and 0.92 INT.

* From Weeks 7-16, Aaron Rodgers finished as QB3 or better in 7 of 10 games.

Finally someone who atleast thinks Big Ben is at least start worthy. I've been targeting him in the later rounds and pairing him up with either Rivers or Stafford. Just like the Steelers offense, especially with Martavius back. And I like where you have Mariota. That offense is adding some nice weapons.

While I'm not an early QB guy, how far would Rodgers or Brady have to fall for you to give it legit consideration? 3rd round?

Depends on my league size for Brady and Rodgers.  If I have keepers at other positions, probably 3rd.  If it's a straight redraft, I'd rather take Brees in the 5th or 6th.

And not many QBs have the upside Big Ben does on a weekly basis.  With Bell, Brown, and Bryant all in the lineup, he's been damn good.

Surprised you have Mariota-Russell-Jameis at 5-7 but happy if you're right

It's definitely a risk.  Mariota and Wilson aren't stretches since both have finished inside the top 5 before.  I'm anticipating a huge leap forward for Winston with the additions of DJax and Howard and a stout defense to enable the running game. A lot of the reason I have Winston so high is that I don't love any of the guys immediately behind him.  Luck's injury scares me too much right now.

Do you think Tribisky gets starts this year? If so where does he rank? Same with Mahommes?

Both in the bottom 10.  Trubisky has no weapons, and Mahomes may only play half the season if Smith falters, and he's not exactly surrounded by passing game weapons either.

Kind of like:

Tier 1 Rodgers Brady

Tier 2 Brees

Tier 3 Others

I personally feel a drop off after Brady to Brees and would not pass on a sliding Brady/Rodgers for the chance to acquire Brees a round later. I know it seems strange to have a tier with just one guy.

I may post my standard setting tiers before my big live draft 8/29. Mine are a little less technical, and moreso based on my general opinions and feel of players for his years drafts.

Seems to be a lot of hype around Stafford this season.  Do you think out of any of those QBs listed he has the most potential to exceed his tier?

im a lions fan and im avoiding staff this year, hes gonna have a great football year, but idk about fantasy. trying to run a lot more
