I guess Zimmer thinks so, or he just decided none of the alternatives were any better. Flip was a stranger who rode in on a Philly-green balloon full of Super Bowl hot air that deflated more every day as the offense regressed. I can see Zimmer not wanting a repeat of that situation and promoting from within. Whatever the case, the coordination will have to improve a lot from what we saw this season. So will the execution, but that's on Zimmer. Everson and Captain Kirk try to fire the guys up, but it only goes so far when the head coach isn't motivating everybody from the top. The Vikings scored 37 combined points against the Bears and Lions under Stefanski and 37 combined points under DeFilippo (not counting the D TD against DET).
