sparky151
It would be nice to know what sort of scheme we're going to run and thus who to keep and who to replace.

Agreed. It's getting to the point of urgent.

sparky151
I don't understand why Taylor didn't try to keep Pollack.

sparky151
But he didn't take another job. He was available if Taylor wanted him. Why anyone would want Turner over Pollack is a mystery.

Why anyone would want Turner over Pollack is a mystery. Pollack survived the first round of (existing Bengals) coaching interviews. He left on his on accord shortly after; which is very odd to say the least. Goodberry speculates that Pollack was informed that Bill Callahan, who has another year left in Washington, would join the staff in 2020. Instead of hanging around Cinci for another year Pollack jumped the gun and left for another job with the Jets. It's entirely possible the underwhelming Jim Turner hire is just an interim hiring for Callahan in 2020. It makes sense because clearly Turner wasn't Taylor's first option. Let's hope that's the case. Anyone who says Bobby Hart played well last season should be fired on the spot.

THE DUKE
Because it's an open secret that next year the other Callahan is coming from the Redskins once his contract is up. Pollack doesn't want to be here on a known 1 year deal. Turner is a guy with connections to Taylor who is expendable after this year. Hard to get a better quality guy when the assumption is it's only for 1 year.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if they hire them next year, but i'm think the odds probably aren't that great.
