vike daddy
Against the Giants, Minnesota ran for 211 yards [which tied a season-high], while also throwing for 279 yards, a total that was a season-best at the time in totaling a whopping 490 yards of offense. Kirk Cousins set his season-best with 333 passing yards against Philadelphia in Week 6, while the running game churned out 122 yards against the NFL’s top-ranked run defense. Add them together, and the Vikings have compiled 937 yards of offense in two games. That’s better than any two-game stretch since Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer arrived in Minnesota in 2014. https://www.vikings.com/news/vikings-offense-wants-to-keep-recent-rhythm-going-in-motown

Tough to judge the Giants game given how poor their pass defense is ranked. It was effective in Green Bay but Cousins left several big plays on the field and they lost points on the OPI review and the blocked XP after Diggs' penalty. The offense didn't work in Chicago but that was mostly the OL getting beaten up and again Cousins missing several opportunities for explosive plays. They've yet to have a game where they didn't have multiple open intermediate-to-deep shots, and the only game where they didn't get anything going on the ground was Chicago. Klomp
One of the big things people commented about this offseason was the lack of depth at WR and what might happen if one of the key guys missed. But I think this is one of the big benefits of having multiple-TE sets and using Ham a bunch.....the offense can keep functioning while hardly skipping a beat when someone goes out. We were without 2 of our top 3 receivers for essentially the whole game and still put up 42 points.

Offensive points at that. The defense didn’t really put them in any really advantageous positions
vike daddy
In only seven games, Cook now has rushed for eight touchdowns and the Vikings have 11 rushing touchdowns on the season, two more than they had in 16 games last season. https://www.vikings.com/news/5-takeaways-from-the-vikings-win-over-the-lions-x0824
Krauser
Vikings had 9 drives in Detroit (excluding end of half/game), produced 6 TDs and 32 first downs. So they had 35 drive opportunities (9 + 32 - 6) on which they got 32 first downs — a Drive Success Rate of .914. Anything over .750 DSR is excellent, .700 is about average. Chiefs last year were at .798 for the season. Vikings came into the game 12th in the league with a .721 DSR.
vikesfan89
Zimmer blocking stefanski from going to New York seems to be working out pretty good for both of them so far

They rank fourth in the percentage of drives they are producing points, fifth in Expected Points Added and third in yards per play. In 2018 the Vikings were 23rd, 25th and 19th in those same areas. Early in the season the Vikings were criticized for taking an “old school” approach to offense, focusing on the run first. But over the past four weeks the offense has become one of the NFL’s most explosive, which is partly due to offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski taking a modern approach. Interesting article.

VikeManDan
Is it just me or was this his worst-called (right wording/phrasing?) game this year?

It just didn't have any rhyme or reason to it. I call it the "Ask Madden" offense. I mean at least take a couple more deep shots (even if it lands 5 yards away from the WR) just to put that fear into the defense and take a safety out of run defense and hopefully make things easier for Dalvin. Run some play-action just to put that in their mind and maybe they sell out for the run and you can hit over the middle. Green Bay had great success lining up a RB out wide and we even hit on a deep pass that was about a foot out of bounds but the play was there and......we didn't go back to it.
