Madden 19 Raiders and Chargers Co-Op Rebuild

Draft was done last night, we will try to upload it tonight. Still working out how we are going to do the draft going forward. In my own league I would post prospects and then my board, but with this format it's difficult to do that without advertising to each other who we are targeting in the draft. For now we are going to do the draft and then I will do a big post afterwards with my drafted players attributes and combine numbers. @biggio7 is gonna do what he does, probably something similar.

London Chargers Draft recap:

-1st round, Devin White, Star, 76
-2nd round, Yodny Cajuste, Quick, 75
-2nd round, Riley Ridley, Quick, 74
-3rd round, Brett Rypien, Quick, 72
-3rd round, JoeJuan Williams, Quick, 72
-4th round, Ed Alexander, Normal, 62
-4th round, Hunter Renfrow, Normal, 67
-4th round, Elijah Holyfield, Normal, 67
-4th round, Jon Runyan Jr, Normal, 66
-5th round, Kavontae Turpin, Normal, 66
-6th round, Nick Brossette, Quick, 67
-7th round, Breiden Fehoko, Normal, 64

I was really pleased with how the draft fell for me. I didn't want to keep moving back and gaining extra picks, aside from keeping a pick limit too. This will be a nice set up for the rebuilding process in London. Our overalls look a little iffy but the players themselves have the skills to pick up everything else.

Devin White- Already being named captain on this team will take over play calling duties that he was in charge of at LSU. Devin will be the key to holding down the defense for us. His strong pursuit at 84 shows his ability to get after the ball.

Yodny Cajuste- He is a quick LT who will get an opportunity to anchor that blind side. He might struggle with powerful ends at first but should hold up well.

Riley Ridley- We wanted to take a playmaker on the offensive side of the ball. We felt Riley can come in here and continue his own legacy after leaving Georgia. He will need to work on his release off the line of scrimmage though.

Brett Rypien- He comes from a very athletic family tree. He will be battling to start with JT Barrett and Danny Etling. His sneaky speed and strong arm will help him in this offense.

JoeJuan Williams- Not a well known name yet but he is coming out of Vanderbilt at 6'3 and 208lbs. His zone coverage is already at an 80. With our zone defense scheme, he surely slides right in nicely.

Ed Alexander- It was a surprise to see him leave school early in such a crowded and talented DT class. But, he is a big kid who should eat up double blocks for use allowing the linebackers through. He will need to put on some strength.

Hunter Renfrow- The legacy of Hunter Renfrow in college is on the minds of everyone. People gravitate to the undersized WR. He is not going to wow you on paper but he will do the little things needed to win.

Elijah Holyfield- He will battle for a rotational spot with a few others this season. It was important to try to find other weapons on the offensive side of the ball. He is a tone setter and not a homerun runner.

Jon Runyan Jr. - We do like players from athletic families. Junior is just as talented in the trenches as his father was but just needs a little bit of time to shine and a chance to grow. He needs to boost his strength and will work in as RT to start the season.

Kavontae Turpin- This is a pleasing pick for Mr. Tomlinson coming from TCU. This kid is a burner, no doubt about it. He is tied for the fastest rookie in this draft class with 96 speed. We needed a deep threat and here he is folks.

Nick Brossette- The LSU staff could not say enough positive things about Nick. He is a bulldog runner in the trenches and will get his opportunities to continue here. He will certainly be battling for a spot and playing time.

Breiden Fehoko- The injury he sustained didn't hold us back from drafting him. Along side Ed Alexander, we were confident to bring him and hopefully find a spot on the roster. We know he could play and have you seen the dance with his family before games? It gave us the chills and we just had to have him.

Maybe something along the lines of using google documents for your draft/prospects board. Then you can just post the link without it being out in the open.

Also, I think it would be fine just having a post-draft run down of your draft and maybe some interesting prospects that neither of you weren’t able to draft.

I really like this, I’ll be following. Going to be really interesting seeing how draft strategies differ. Especially if there is prospects both of you are interested in. And of course the head to head matchups.

eZ1aO2F.png?2  2019 NFL Draft - First 3 Rounds

RAIDERS PICKS
1.16 4.112
1.28 5.144
2.48 6.176
2.56 7.208
3.80

So I came into this draft just looking for BPA and to add some talent on offense to prepare my (hopefully) 2020 QB for a successful season. Let's go through my draft.

I picked at 16, and decided I wasn't going to move up - only down if I didn't like how the board fell. Here is how the picks went up to 16.

1st Round

2019 NFL DRAFT
PICK TEAM   NAME OVR DEV
1 VIKINGS LT GREG LITTLE 78
2 PANTHERS LT JONAH WILLIAMS 79
3 TITANS DT QUINNEN WILLIAMS 81 ⭐⭐
4 CHARGERS LB DEVIN WHITE 78
5 DOLPHINS DT ED OLIVER 81 ⭐⭐
6 BRONCOS CB GREEDY WILLIAMS 78 ⭐⭐
7 EAGLES DE NICK BOSA 82 ⭐⭐
8 SEAHAWKS DT JEFFREY SIMMONS 79 ⭐⭐
9 BUCS CB BYRON MURPHY 77
10 TEXANS DT DEXTER LAWRENCE 78
11 COLTS DT RAEKWON DAVIS 78
12 JETS DT CHRISTIAN WILKINS 77
13 BILLS DE RASHAN GARY 78
14 BEARS DT DREMONT JONES 76
15 LIONS CB DEANDRE BAKER 76

Spoiler alert: this user created class is stacked. Just a refresher, the development scale for M19 is Normal - Quick - Star - SuperStar.

Kind of a surprising top two picks, but based on who was picking I guess it makes sense. Hick taking Devin White at 4 allowed some studs to fall below him. You can all laugh that a superstar and 4 superstars went after him. Hick is a huge LSU fan and will basically be an LSU grad school. The insane DT talent in the draft allowed some key guys to drop.... at this pick I was looking at the two edge rushers who slid to me, Clellin Ferrell and Josh Allen. Ultimately, I went with my personal preference

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
1.16 EDGE JOSH ALLEN 80 22 6'4 233 1E KENTUCKY 4.64 33.9 9'8 7.07 4.29 19

I'm a big Josh Allen fan, and while I know 16 is completely unrealistic, let's just assume some sort of red flag came up draft day. He will be my new featured pass rusher to replace Khalil Mack.

I picked again at 28 and again was ready to go BPA.  Here is who went up until that point

16 RAIDERS DE JOSH ALLEN 79
17 FALCONS DE MONTEZ SWEAT 77
18 BENGALS CB AMANI ORUWARIYE 76
19 COWBOYS TE IRV SMITH JR 76
20 CARDINALS QB DWAYNE HASKINS 80 ⭐⭐
21 JAGUARS RT CODY FORD 76
22 STEELERS DE ZACH ALLEN 76
23 49ERS RG CHRIS LINDSTROM 76 Q
24 REDSKINS S DEIONTE THOMPSON 77
25 PACKERS LB DEVIN BUSH 75 Q
26 RAVENS WR AJ BROWN 77
27 GIANTS RT JAWAAN TAYLOR 76 Q

The Cardinals took Dwayne Haskins and already have Rosen... okay. Poor Madden AI. I could have taken Haskins, but I really wanted a Madden generated QB.

There were a ton of players I considered here.... including Clellin Ferrell who still hasn't gone. I don't think I could start off a franchise taking two edge guys because I have holes everywhere. The other options were DK Metcalf, Trevon Diggs, N'Keal Harry, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, and Te'Von Coney. Ultimately, I chose to add one of my personal favourites in the draft in...

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
1.28 WR DEKAYLIN METCALF 75 20 6'4 225 1L OLE MISS 4.49 35.8 10'4 6.85 4.11 20

Future #1 and stud. I will focus the hell out of him this year.

The rest of the 1st round...

29 CHIEFS DE CLELLIN FERRELL 79
30 RAMS CB TREVON DIGGS 76 N
31 BROWNS DE JACHAI POLITE 76 N
32 PACKERS DE ISAIAH BUGGS 75 Q

2nd Round

I have an extra pick in the 2nd round because of the Rodney Hudson trade to the Redskins. Again looking BPA, but there aren't a ton of skill positions I liked in the 2nd, so I thought I'd build the trenches. Here's both picks.

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
2.16 OG BEAU BENZSCHAWEL 76 22 6'5 318 2L WISCONSIN 4.92 27.8 9'9 7.46 4.54 29

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
2.24 OT DAVID EDWARDS 73 21 6'6 315 3M WISCONSIN 5.00 29.1 10'0 7.51 4.59 27

Pairing a couple of college teammates up. I think Beau is staying in school in real life? Oh well. Couple of solid players to help rebuild the OL considering I traded Hudson away already.

3rd Round

Now I am coming into this round with 1 pick at 3.80, but once my pick got around tcre were 3 guys I reeaaaallly wanted, so I made a trade..

Trade
RAIDERS FALCONS
OG KELECHE OSEMELE 83 FOR   2019 3rd #81

The Falcons could use an IOL upgrade, and I really wanted to grab both of these players.

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
3.16 WR PARRIS CAMPBELL 74 Q 22 6'0 209 3E OHIO STATE 4.39 32.2 9'4 6.77 4.03 14

eZ1aO2F.png?2
PICK   NAME OVR DEV AGE HT WT PROJ SCHOOL 40 VERT BROAD 3CONE SHUTTLE BENCH
3.17 WR MARQUISE BROWN 75 21 5'11 175 2L OKLAHOMA 4.35 34 9'6 6.69 3.97 11

I think both of these guys go in the 2nd round in real life, so really stoked to grab both in the mid 3rd. Drafting 3 WRs with my first 5 picks was not part of the plan, but I am really feelin it. The last 4 rounds I will just post the players with a brief write-up.

7.16 QB TYREE JACKSON 67 N 21 6'7 245 7L BUFFALO 4.63 31.6 9'10 7.33 4.47 26

Justice Hill was the other player I really wanted in the 3rd round, so I was very happy to get him in the 4th.He's not great but will be a good backup down the line, and maybe develop into something. SIngletary sucks in this game but I like him a lot IRL so I nabbed him. The 2 QBs were just shots in the dark. One of them will have to play this year because after the draft I released AJ McCarron lol

This concludes the first draft. I am happy with this format for myself, but next year I will post some more options at each pick because we will be sing random generated drafts from here on out. On to 2019!

Too much of an uproar with moving the team to London. Due to some sort of odd phrasing in contracts. The now London Chargers were forced to release; Melvin Gordon, Joey Bosa, Keenan Allen, Casey Heyward, Desmond King, Hunter Henry, and anybody listed 72 and above.

DqT1qAf.png?1 Hickory and I have decided that we are going to sim to Week 17 where we play eachother, play that game and get another draft in

Also to note there weren't really any big free agent signings around the league, but there should be some big ones this year.

eZ1aO2F.png?2 2019 Season - Trade Deadline

We have reached the trade dealing and the Raiders are 2-5. Gruden is looking over the roster, and decides that a couple players that were rumoured to be on the block are going to be traded for future assets.

Trade
RAIDERS RAVENS
CB GAREON CONLEY 85 FOR   2020 1st

Trade
RAIDERS EAGLES
SS KARL JOSEPH 87 FOR   2020 2nd

Conley has 2 years left and has turned into a strong CB1 - the Ravens trade their projected 30th pick for him to make that Super Bowl push. Karl Joseph is in the final year of his deal, and the Eagles make a trade similar to that of Golden Tate and grab a late season impact player.

Calvin Pryor and Cre'Von LeBlanc were picked up to fill the roster spots.

This is looking like one of the best draft classes I have seen on Madden, but not in any of the positions that I need lol I expect that I will be trading a few more players this offseason - looking at you Kolton Miller and Gabe Jackson.

I'm confused, you straight up released all of your best players?  Why didn't you trade them?

He had so many good players. I told him to trade them over multiple years but he just wanted to get rid of all of them and not have a million draft picks.
