Maybe! Then again you'd think they would have just hired Kubiak as a 'run game coordinator' instead of naming him an Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Advisor, which certainly sounds like a bigger portfolio. Not to mention the fact that the coaching staff is mostly just Kubiak people. It helps that Stefanski himself knows Kubiak so maybe everyone will just get along, but this certainly sounds like one of those arrangements that looks great on paper but can easily lead to people butting heads. Even if that's the setup - Stefanski as a passing game coordinator and Kubiak for the running game, that still means Stefanski basically had his roles and responsibilities cut in half within a week of getting promoted. Maybe that's the job he signed up for all along, but it certainly doesn't seem like it.

Kubiak brought in Kyle Shanahan as a favor to his old boss Mike (he was a wunderkind so it wasn't ALL bad) but insisted on Rick Dennison as OC afterwards. The defense was so bad under Kubiak cronies Richard Smith and Frank Bush - so bad that Bob McNair forced Wade Phillips onto Kubiak to break up the monotony (which worked out, actually). It was also evident on the roster - guys like David Anderson, Shelley Smith, Joel Dreessen, Garrett Graham? Colorado State Alums... and friends with former CSU FS/QB coach Klint Kubiak (I think DA was Klint's roommate in college). It was a major issue here during Kubiak's tenure. No Kubiak crony can be as bad as Denny Green's crony Richard Solomon.

Stefanski kas been working with the Vikings since junior high basically so he really doesn't have the experience in putting together a staff. so again maybe just maybe he welcomes what's going on. Did he go to Carolina with his dad Norv? offensive analyst at michigan in 2017 then QB coach this past year for the panthers. so in short, yes. all of scott turner's NFL coaching gigs have been on his father's staffs. Ironically, though, except for when norv was head coach for the chargers. scott was with the panthers then.
