Its the narrative. They arent waiting for the courts to make up their mind. If Zeke won it would be blasted on every major news/sports/social media:

"Zeke beats NFL in federal court after sham investigation"

It would be a new narrative. Thats what would change the mind of the masses. You know this man.

Maybe, or maybe not. It's speculative. We have no idea what the headlines will be. When the NFL beat Brady, the headlines weren't "BRADY OFFICIALLY DEFLATED FOOTBALLS." We have no idea what the headlines will be, and we have no idea what the reaction will be. There have been plenty of cases where public reaction was contrary to the official narratives. The point is this is all speculative and we can't say for sure.

But your argument is pointless cause he will literally never win the appeal. At the end of the day, even if this is a win for the NFLPA it is a loss for the Cowboys. If they lose Zeke for a potential playoff run that is a disaster. If they lose him during playoffs even worse. If they lose him at the start of next year and miss the playoffs this year that could actually get people fired.

Β

Perception might change, Cowboys still lose.

Zeke is doing everything every one of us would or should be doing in his situation. Even if you're completely guilty, you turn over every rock, appeal every decisionΒ against you and delay, delay, delay. When money is not an issue, you can afford to jerk around the court system. Thus, why so many rich people get less punishmentΒ for the same crimes general people are charged with.Β

I don't really care what happens to Zeke. He's obviously screwing around too much for the NFL's liking and is getting slapped on the wrist for it. It doesn't matter whether or not he's been legally charged. The NFL sees this as too many black eyes on the league and are, within every inch of their right, punishing him for conduct detrimental to the league. What's the argument?Β

So again, who are the people out there who thinks a labor dispute is a criminal adjudication of guilt lol. Most people understand he was never charged.

Which backs up my point - Zeke/NFLPA were smart to make sure this story was kept front and center. Had he walked away from this 6 months ago, we would not be having this debate. Most people would not know the merits of his case. Id have no clue who the hell Kia Roberts is, or the fact that she essentially told the NFL he never hit her (yes, thats what is implied).

But this is different because if you don't post bail you potentially could spend more time in jail. If Zeke didn't appeal he would be suspended for 6 weeks, it is not like his time in "jail"(in this analogy) would actually be any longer. He is still going to be suspended and potentially at a even more crucial time.Β

Ok. I didn't know "bail" was just an analogy. I thought it was literal.Β

Disagree completely. I think that:

NFLPA: Wants Zeke to be a martyr because its obvious to anyone with a brain the NFL royally screwed up the handling of this case. For them, its a negotiation tactic. They get to clown the league - and even though they will likely lose - the world knows how bad the NFL screwed the pooch.

Zeke: Gets his side of the story out there. It gets repeated to the masses who may have only heard the initial story. He gets sympathy for the disgrace that was the NFL investigation. He gets an opportunity, no matter how unlikely, to win this at the court level. He is able to delay his suspension and work on his craft.

Β

There is absolutely no doubt that the longer this has gone on, the more facts revealed, the better Zeke has looked in comparison to the NFL. If you dont believe me, go look at social media or reddit. Probably close to 85% of the comments are all pro-Zeke/bashing the NFL. Reddit especially, were even the NFC E rivals call this thing BS.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I still argue that this has only been "bad press" or a "bad story" for the NFL. This was brilliantly played by the NFLPA/Zeke. They want us talking about this.Β

I 100% disagree with this.Β  I think he's a fool for not just getting it over with.Β  His continued fight has made it into a bigger story which hurts his image IMO.

I disagree. The NFLPA will eventually lose this so I'm not sure how that helps any public relations. I think the lawyers are milking big paychecks at this point lol.

Yup. If he just took his suspension we'd have all moved on to the next controversy.

The suspension is only for regular season games. And if we miss playoffs in 2 years because our RB missed 6 games, people should get fired. Hes all pro, one of the top 5 in the league, but he is still a RB. We should be able to weather a 6 game storm w/o him.Β

Ok? Maybe this is a win for NFLPA. Maybe it is a win for Zeke, I personally don't know. The Cowboys still lose though. He is actually directly working against his team by fighting this at this point.

Zekes image has absolutely been repaired to a degree by fighting this.Β

The Cowboys are more or less built to win cold weather road games in December/January, so long as they're healthy. Playing postseason home gamesΒ at Jerryworld is just asking to get lit up Rodgers or Wilson.

Not saying it's easier to make the Super Bowl as a 6-seed than a 1-seed. Just that Dallas has no discernible HFA in the last 7 or so years.

Okay, that's somewhat reasonable.Β  That begs the question, though, why the hell did Jerry build an environment with no discernible HFA?Β  Also, you'll still have to play more games if you're a wildcard spot and therefore no bye week to rest either.Β  Not sure what the %'s are, but I'd have to imagine no matter how your team is built #1 seed is better than being a #6 seed.Β  It would be interesting to find out those numbers.Β  @RandyMossIsBossΒ  I feel this something you would probably know since the analytics guy around here.

I'm not going down this rabbit hole again. Essentially saying something and saying something directly are different things. You're satisfied with the former, I demand the latter.
