That right there is why Dak should of never played without a long term contract. Not saying that is Alex Smith 2.0, but as horrible a break as that was never know.

Either way Dak isnt getting the contract he deserves next offseason. If anything Jerry will use this as leverage in negotiations.

Red Rifle Time!

That’s the crap when you heard all that horse bleep about Dallas being a big market and you can make up all the extra income by taking a pay cut to afford better pieces around you is exactly that...horse bleep. Every NFL player is a mercenary. Get your money, always. These owners are billionaires. Time and times over. Get your chunk while you can. It’s not a team sport when it comes to finances. Dak, most likely, will never see that 100M contract that he should have seen just because of that one play he was looking to get a couple extra yards. Unreal.

I don’t know what’s better for us. Cowboys winning or losing.

Honestly it depends on how we continue to progress throughout the season. The best we can hope for us is that us and Dallas trend in opposite directions.

This is why you don’t play on a tag, not after everything you’ve done for that organization while making PENNIES for 4 years. Hopefully he makes recovery, and I think he still will get paid by someone, but significantly less.

As twisted as this sounds, this might help Cowboys long term if it let’s them weasel out of paying him the $40M/year payday and get him on a prove it deal or he just takes what he can get. Also probably means worse record for them in a year that was lost with how bad their defense is. Of course if you were in the camp of Dak being an elite QB and such, then there is no spinning this, as it could certainly have long term effect on his game and stop him from reaching potential.
