Because he won multiple Super Bowls in the city of New York. Eli basically is his generation's Troy Aikman. Jroc04
Eliβs stats are so pedestrian. If he gets the hall nod, itβll lower the bar so much for QBs. Itβs almost as if he was never really good, (surprise, surprise) but it was more that the Giants just chose to ride with him over and over. Heβs got stats in bulk but comparing him to his contemporaries or averaging out his years he becomes so average. Like, when all is done, if Eli gets in Matt Stafford will have a strong argument.Β
Gmen
There are five stages of grieving, and it appears that most of you are stuck in the first stage of denial. I understand itβs early. It will change. September - Anger - βWhy didnβt Denver trade up to number #5 to draft Jones!? ELWAY!!!!β October - Bargaining - βIf he doesnβt score three touchdowns against us,Β Iβll go to church nextΒ Sunday. Please!β November - Depression - βNone of this matters anyway. Itβs just a game. I need to move on with my life. I need to focus on my art anywayβ December - Acceptance - βWell, maybe we can fight for a wildcard for the next decadeβ

Where are you going to be when Eli gets benched and Daniel Jones comes in and performs horribly?
