I’m all in on wanting Tevin Coleman but Ingram would also be a really good get for us. As to his contract I think the numbers you’re talking may get it done. With Ingram over Coleman I think you’re still taking a RB in round 3 or 4 though because of the age.

The way it's shaping up Coleman may get more money than Ingram can squeeze out of someone.

With Coleman we'd be looking at a 4-5 deal whereas Ingram probably 2 yrs and for far less money.

I’m fully expecting Coleman gets 4-5 years. I’ve been working up some potential contracts for a pre-FA mock I may never finish and what I came up with for Coleman was this:

RB Tevin Coleman 5 years, $33M, $7.5M signing bonus, $13.5M total guarantees at signing.

Cap hits:

2019 $4.5M ($3M base full guarantee, $1.5M SB)

2020 $6.5M ($3M base full guarantee, $2M roster bonus due 3/15, $1.5M SB)

2021 $7.5M ($4M base ($2M guarantees eff. start of 2020 league year), $2M roster bonus due 3/15, $1.5M SB)

2022 $7M ($4M base, $1.5M roster bonus due 3/15, $1.5M SB)

2023 $7.5M ($6M base, $1.5M SB)

(Outs after 2020 with $6.5M dead, after 2021 with $3M dead)

I think Ingram gets something close to Dion Lewis’ 4/$19.8M from last offseason. For 2019 and 2020 the cap hits for that deal and the one I outlined above are very similar.

This is who the talking heads keep referencing as far as where Coleman falls.  It's $1 mil more AAV and $4.5 mil more gtd. than your proposal with a bigger 1st year cap hit.  I dunno.  Could be done I guess but then I'm not deeply in love with Coleman as a lead back when he's never been one.

Yeah I sorta split the difference between the Dion Lewis and McKinnon deals in my projection. FWIW Coleman has been a much more productive player than McKinnon through 4 years, but that McKinnon contract is an albatross too. I don’t think teams are going to use that one as a guide for what they should be spending this offseason.

Well, some are saying Ingram will get $7 mil a year as well and if that's true we may be SOL.  Maybe there's too much money floating around out there and Pace will need to wait for the shake out following the first wave.

I've given up trying to project deals that will work because the pundits blow them up with what they believe some teams will pay for even mid level talent. I have a hard time buying into some of it and to be honest it's gotten to be a little ridiculous how many voices are adding their crap to the throng.

We're no longer a team playing catch up.  We're very close to where we need to be so from here it's all about keeping as much of our core together as we can and tweaking the rest and it's not hard at all to figure out where the tweaks need to be made.

Pace has established himself as a good player in the market.  He's gone from being inexperienced to being savvy and somewhat unpredictable so it's more or less time to sit back and watch it unfold.  I'm certain he'll pull off something we didn't quite expect.

Rams have resigned Dante Fowler for 1 year...according to Rap it's for $14 million...firstly...why the hell did they pay him that much haha...and secondly and most importantly...if the Rams are able to move their cap around like this with Donald's contract anything is possible for us.

RT from Schefter...

Former Dolphins’ WR Danny Amendola plans to sign with Detroit, per source. Amendola is in Detroit now, taking a physical and as long as there are no complications, he will be a Lion, reunited with GM Bob Quinn and HC Matt Patricia.

Dante Fowler 1 year 14 million, back to the Rams

I told people he was going to get a stupid amount of money. My guess is he went 1 year over 3-4 years at 10/season to build up for a big payday next offseason.

Overrated player. Rather sign Justin Houston for that amount than Fowler.
