We aren't gonna be able to keep Burton. Investing that much $ in a #2 receiving option at TE and likely the #5 receiving option for the team just isn't smart.

I'd love to keep him, but we just can't.

I think he goes to Jacksonville and gets paid handsomely.

Someone give me the skinny on the 2 big time safeties in this draft. Strengths/Weaknesses, Comparisons to NFL players past/present, and how they compare to other top end safeties in recent draft classes in terms of prospects.

I assume you're thinking of Derwin James and Minkah Fitzpatrick

Yeah. Also, why has Derwin tumbled in draft stock a bit?

IYAM his stock has dropped because he's FSU used him near the LOS so much this past season. Teams are thinking he maybe a tweener (OLB/S)/ primarily a box safety.

Also IMO:

Fitzpatrick - Eric Berry/Earl Thomas mold

James - Chancellor/ Harrison Smith mold

Another mock

http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2018/02/nfl_mock_draft_2018_eagles_trade_full_7_round_mock_draft.html

Round 1, Pick 32: Dorian O’Daniel, LB, Clemson

Round 4, Pick 127: Dalton Schultz, TE, Stanford

Round 4, Pick 128: Akurm Wadley, RB, Iowa

Round 5, Pick 160: Van Smith, S, Clemson

Round 6, Pick 192: Joe Ostman, DE, Central Michigan

Not feeling a small OLB in round 1.

Schultz is interesting. Wadley is a small 3rd down back. I have to see Van Smith run times...
