Current active-duty Army, getting ready to re-up for another 4 years. Respect to you all ✊🏻

Crazy how half of our forum posters are military or military veterans.  I still have another 3 years on my contract lol.  After I hit 15 I'm doing another 5 and then walking off into the sunset.

Sometimes it’s just in your DNA, I joke with everyone about being a 3x knucklehead. Lol usmc, 45 yr raider fan, and 11 yrs in a 1%er motorcycle club. And when I played football ( back when dinosaurs roamed the planet.lol) it was mostly defense (solb & ss) lmao!

Got a friend who does contract work after retiring and he can work 3 months and make enough to not work the rest of the year so he usually does 6 months on 6 off. I've never asked the name of the company or where he gets sent because I know he wouldn't tell me and we joked about that a few months back in person. Colorado Springs introduced me to a lot of interesting things military related when I was there. Delivered tile to a base out East where I was escorted in and out where the heavily armed guard had to do a retna scan for the entrance/exit. I joked about the vents above probably being able to release gases and he just smiled. LOL Had another friend who hiked Cheyenne Mtn past the warning signs and talked about how strange his body felt. Probably just nerves but met a few who said they worked in NORAD who lived in the 300+ apartment complex I lived and one time worked at. Got mad respect for those who serve and have partied pretty hard with many back in those days. Once in a while I'll buy a round when I see a group out celebrating. Last time was a while ago in San Diego. Thank you for your service.
