San Francisco 49ers: Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama I haven’t been one to mock Williams here, but despite the lack of edge rushers San Francisco currently has, Williams is such a tremendous talent he’s hard to pass up. *Jacksonville Jaguars: Dwayne Haskins, QB Ohio State Jacksonville trades pick #7, #38, and their 2020 1st round pick to move up for Haskins. It’s no question they’re in dire need of a QB, and not only a QB, but a young, franchise QB. Adding Flacco in the offseason was merely a “bridge QB” move that might not even last a whole season. Oakland Raiders: Josh Allen, DE Kentucky Allen “falling” to 4 seems like a stretch, but this situation reminds me of Leonard Williams falling to 6, Jamal Adams falling to 6, Jalen Ramsey falling to 5, and so on. The need for QB’s in today’s NFL usually leads to prospects dropping a little on draft night, and the Raiders won’t complain here with their Khalil Mack replacement right in front of them. Adding Ansah and Allen to a nonexistent pass rush would suddenly make this a group to keep an eye on. *Denver Broncos: Drew Lock, QB Missouri Early reports are indicating that John Elway is targeting Drew Lock, and with Buffalo a willing trade partner for other teams right in front of them, they make the move up. This will likely be a questionable move after already trading a 3rd round pick for Foles, but looking at history, teams like to double down on QB’s if they’re desperate enough. Lock might need time, so Denver could do a Alex Smith/Patrick Mahomes deal here for a year. They trade #10 and their 2020 first round pick to Tampa Bay. New York Giants: Clelin Ferrell, DE Clemson The Kyler Murray watch likely starts here with Eli Manning’s future in question. New York sticks to the plan instead, selecting whoever they deem the best player on the board. New York’s defense has visibly gotten worse without a star pass rusher like past years, (Tuck, Umenyiora, JPP, etc.) and hope Ferrell joins that group. New York Jets (via JAX): Jonah Williams, OT Alabama After considering Josh Allen at 3, New York does the smart thing by recouping some picks they lost in the Sam Darnold trade last year and giving him some protection. Williams is the best OL prospect overall, regardless of where they decide to play him. Detroit Lions: Rashan Gary, DE Michigan Detroit has plenty of options here. White, Greedy, and plenty of others are enticing, but replacing the departed Ziggy Ansah should be priority number one. *Oakland Raiders: Kyler Murray, QB Oklahoma One of the many surprises we’re sure to see on draft day, Oakland is able to work all the way up from #24 to take Murray. Oakland trades Derek Carr and #24 to Washington for #15, and trades #15, #66, and their 2020 2nd rounder to Buffalo for #9. Murray has been linked to Oakland a lot recently and has definitely caught the eye of Jon Gruden. They take a big risk on the heisman trophy winner, but this fan base needs some excitement before their (potential) move to Las Vegas. And if you think he’ll be available at #24 anyways, you’re wrong. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (via DEN): Ed Oliver, DT Houston Reports are going out suggesting the Bucs will move on from Gerald McCoy. Sliding Oliver next to Vita Vea could make for a dynamic combination inside. Cincinnati Bengals: Devin White, LB LSU This has become the “Leonard Fournette to Jaguars” prediction, one of the more obvious picks, if that’s a thing. White fits this defense perfectly, and could replace Burfict if he’s forced to retire. White is a top 5 player in this class but falls out of the top 10 due to team need and QB’s. Green Bay Packers: Montez Sweat, DE Mississippi State It’s not secret that Green Bay needs an edge rusher, and with Clay signing in Seattle, this need becomes even more obvious. Sweat dominated senior bowl week, likely granting him an invitation to the top 15. Miami Dolphins: Greedy Williams, CB LSU Miami considers trading up for a QB, but stick to their word of waiting until 2020. This should be a rebuilding year for Miami, and what better way to start it off than adding a potential lockdown corner? Xavien Howard has been fantastic, but if he’s traded, (rumors are out there) he needs to be replaced. If not? That could be a dangerous duo in the secondary. *Houston Texans: Cody Ford, OT Oklahoma The Texans aren’t done yet. Signing Smith to play LT and trading up for Ford might not even be enough. Ford is versatile, potentially starting at guard before making the move to tackle. With two 2nd rounders at their disposal, they trade #23, and #55 to Atlanta for #14. Basically every team from 15 to 22 could be in the market for Ford’s services. Buffalo Bills (via OAK): Jeffery Simmons, DT Mississippi State Brandon Beane has been quoted saying “we’re picking in the top 10 and don’t need to be” lately, and whether he’s talking about a literal trade down or just suggesting they’re better than that, moving down is a smart move. Simmons is a fast riser that won’t make it to the combine, so his stock is probably right around here. This pick might confuse some after the Richardson signing, but Buffalo will continue using their “BPA” way of drafting. Carolina Panthers: Brian Burns, DE Florida State Peppers’ retirement creates an even greater need for an edge rusher. Burns will be called on early and often to come in and produce early. Cleveland Browns: Byron Murphy, CB Washington Cleveland took care of their DT need with Suh in free agency, so a running mate with last years first round pick Denzel Ward could be next up on the to do list. Minnesota Vikings: Jawaan Taylor, OT Florida Offensive line seems like a solid bet to be the focus in round one. Cousins wasn’t great, but behind that line, it’s hard to tell how effect he actually could be. Taylor seems to be the best available. Tennessee Titans: Noah Fant, TE Iowa Adding Graham in free agency solves one issue, now the offense gets some work. Walker is released in this scenario and Johnnu Smith isn’t the future there, so Fant gets the call. Tennessee could use more weapons all around. Pittsburgh Steelers: Devin Bush, LB Michigan It was obvious last season that Pittsburgh still needs a Shazier replacement for the time being. Bush is a solid prospect that’s being overlooked so far. *Pittsburgh Steelers: DeAndre Baker, CB Georgia Pittsburgh acquires this pick from Seattle for Antonio Brown. Joe Haden is aging and Artie Burns has been a bust. Baker is pro ready and will slide into the starting lineup day one. Baltimore Ravens: Hakeem Butler, WR Iowa State Baltimore can go a number of options here. Hakeem Butler’s unique blend of size and speed could warrant round one consideration. Baltimore jumps on the opportunity to give Lamar Jackson more weapons. Atlanta Falcons (via HOU): Dexter Lawrence, DT Clemson The Falcons are able to resign Jarrett, add a 2nd round pick, and draft a dynamic run stopper all in one offseason? Sounds like a good start. Fun fact: I scrimmaged against Lawrence in high school. Washington Redskins (via OAK): Deionte Thompson, S Alabama Washington is an early favorite for “draft winner” here, securing their QB (for at least 2019) and adding another Alabama defender in the process. Clinton-Dix signing with SF in this scenario makes this a necessary move. Indianapolis Colts: Christian Wilkins, DT Clemson It’s become a focus of the Colts to work on the trenches early and often. Wilkins drops a bit further than expected and Indianapolis pounces. Philadelphia Eagles: Zach Allen, DE Boston College It seems like a safe bet that Philly will go with a defensive lineman here. Allen could be a good fit on a defense that’s likely losing Graham in free agency, could lose Long to retirement, and Bennett aging. Oakland Raiders (via DAL): Mack Wilson, LB Alabama Gruden and company are somehow able to hold onto their last draft pick, taking the QB of their defense here. The rebuild goes exactly according to plan. Pick up an elite pass rusher, a franchise QB, and athletic freak to lead the defense. *New York Giants: Daniel Jones, QB Duke Right when the Giants looked like they were sticking with Eli for 2019, they trade up for Jones who falls further than expected. Tired of seeing all these QB’s being traded up for? 10 of the last 11 1st round QB’s have been traded up for. The last one that wasn’t? Baker Mayfield. Kansas City Chiefs: Trayvon Mullen, CB Clemson The AFC Championship loss to New England made it perfectly clear that this team NEEDS help in the secondary. Mullen is the best corner remaining. Green Bay Packers (via NO): Nasir Adderley, S Delaware Adding Burns earlier was a start to fixing this lackluster defense. The focus could shift to the secondary with the next pick, where Adderley is too good to pass up. Los Angeles Rams: Jachai Polite, DE Florida Polite doesn’t seem too likely to go this late in the draft, but every year someone falls. Polite’s lack of size is what hurts him, but LA will take the gamble to replace Dante Fowler Jr. New England Patriots: Dre’mont Jones, DT Ohio State New England could really use a TE here. How about a WR? The Patriots do the “Patriot thing” here a pick a position nobody really expects (not that it’s too bold). Shelton leaving creates a hole here that was probably there to begin with. Regardless of whether they would sign Suh .... he is on the downside of his career. Given that this is a historic DT draft. If both Q and J Williams, Oliver, and Ferrell are gone by our pick then i have no problem trading down and taken whoever is available to us of Simmons, Wilkins, Lawrence, Ford, or Sweat. While picking up another 2nd round pick to do so would be the perfect outcome. With both of those 2nd round picks we can then look at a OG or 2 in Lindstrom or Risner and a DE like Oshane Ximines. Since we didn't get any new FA's i'll take this time to gladly pickup Saffold as our new OL and big FA move which we always do 1 big 1 pretty much every year at a big need. OL is our biggest need this offseason and he seems like a perfect choice. Keeping Grady is ofcourse the right move as well he's a stud and a top 5 or so DT. I say grab us 1 more penetrating DT in rounds 3 or 4 to team with Grady, Lawrence/Wilkins, Senat and our DT position will be set for a good while. Ot would still need to be addressed as well somehow maybe FA as well or with a 3rd or 4th round pick too to team with DT. OL would then be Would be a much improved OL for sure. You realize we don't even have a defensive coordinator or LB coach right now? Hard to say anyone fits the defense perfectly. Allen could be a good fit on a defense that’s likely losing Graham in free agency, could lose Long to retirement, and Bennett aging. Oakland Raiders (via DAL): Mack Wilson, LB Alabama Gruden and company are somehow able to hold onto their last draft pick, taking the QB of their defense here. The rebuild goes exactly according to plan. Pick up an elite pass rusher, a franchise QB, and athletic freak to lead the defense. *New York Giants: Daniel Jones, QB Duke Right when the Giants looked like they were sticking with Eli for 2019, they trade up for Jones who falls further than expected. Tired of seeing all these QB’s being traded up for? 10 of the last 11 1st round QB’s have been traded up for. The last one that wasn’t? Baker Mayfield. Kansas City Chiefs: Trayvon Mullen, CB Clemson The AFC Championship loss to New England made it perfectly clear that this team NEEDS help in the secondary. Mullen is the best corner remaining. Green Bay Packers (via NO): Nasir Adderley, S Delaware Adding Burns earlier was a start to fixing this lackluster defense. The focus could shift to the secondary with the next pick, where Adderley is too good to pass up. Los Angeles Rams: Jachai Polite, DE Florida Polite doesn’t seem too likely to go this late in the draft, but every year someone falls. Polite’s lack of size is what hurts him, but LA will take the gamble to replace Dante Fowler Jr. New England Patriots: Dre’mont Jones, DT Ohio State New England could really use a TE here. How about a WR? The Patriots do the “Patriot thing” here a pick a position nobody really expects (not that it’s too bold). Shelton leaving creates a hole here that was probably there to begin with. Nothing the Packers have done in the past has given me any reason to think they’ll change their ways. I do think they’ll sign a couple starting worthy players, but there’s too many factors that go into it. I doubt any of these guys actually sign to where so predict them anyways. That was under Ted Thompson. New GM broke that mold last year. With Rodgers not getting any younger, you can be they will be spending some money. They will not take 5-6 free agents at 5 mil each. Whoever gets Foles won't draft a QB until they realize the mistake they made. We made that mistake with Keenum a year ago, not doing twice. Didn’t realize until this morning the Dolphins would make perfect sense in this scenario (obviously meaning Taylor goes elsewhere).
