Leisher's 2019 you make the pick mock.

Recommended Posts

This is just a fun inner active mock.  I was using NFLMOCK big board 2-8-19 for this post, on Fanspeak.com.  You have 4 players to select from and I placed their rankings on the big board.  Let's see what we come up with.  Don't care whether or not you agree or disagree with the rankings, it's just for fun, so make your selections.

#12:  Devin White ILB  LSU  #6, Jonah Williams T  Alabama  #7, Deionte Thompson S  Alabama #9 or TJ. Hockenson TE  Iowa #17.

#30.  Noah Fant TE  Iowa #29, Cody Ford G  Oklahoma #24, Johnathan Abram S  Miss St. #25 or Irv Smith Jr. TE  Alabama #28.

#44.  Marquise Brown WR  Oklahoma #41, Taylor Rapp S Washington #47, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson S Florida #49 or Nasir Adderley S Delaware #59.

#75.  Joe Jackson Edge Miami #77, Austin Bryant Edge Clemson #78, Parris Campbell WR Ohio St. #83 or Rock Ya-Sin CB Temple #88.

#114.  Bryce Love RB Stanford #92, Beau Benzschawel G WI #119, Devin Studstill S Notre Dame #117 or Emanuel Hall WR Missouri #113.

#118.  Khalen Saunders DL W. Illinois #137, Elijah Holyfield RB Georgia #139, Ben Banagu Edge TCU #132 or Keelan Doss WR UC-Davis #131.

#151.  Kaleb McGary T Washington #162, Martez Ivey G Florida #155, David Edwards T WI #157 or Kendall Sheffield CB Ohio St. #153.

#187.  Ben Powers G Oklahoma #184, Logan Parker TE S. Utah #189, Anthony Ratliff-Johnson WR NC #188 or Albert Huggens DL Clemson #191.

#196.  Karon Higdon RB Michigan #204, Shareef Miller Edge Penn St. #206, Darnell Savage S Maryland #213 or Dexter Williams RB Notre Dame #196.

I tried.  Yuck is what I can say.

First two EDGE choices are at #75?  No DL with that first choice?

No to the off-ball linebacker with average instincts.  No to the safety.  No to the tight end.  Only real choice is Jonah, and I like him, but not over a lot of the DL there.

Two tight ends, a guard and safety with the second choice?  All non-premium so I'll take Fant.

#44 is interesting.  I'll take the offensive toy there, Brown.

#75.  Bryant.

#114.  Benzschawal at G.

Saunsers at DL.

McGary at T.

Huggens DL.

Higdon RD (has some burst and one cut ability)

Butler is the slam dunk at #228!  Lol.

Wow do I hate those choices at 12.

#12:  Deionte Thompson S- Don't like the player but it's a position of major need.  Choices were terrible.  It came down to a starting safety or a 4th string OT?  Picked the S.

#30.  Noah Fant TE  Iowa- Would love to get him at 30.

#44.  Marquise Brown WR  Oklahoma- Would love to get him at #44.

#75.  Joe Jackson Edge Miami- Terrible group.  Another need and first available Edge.  I think he's got more upside than Bryant.

#114.  Beau Benzschawel G WI- Another group I don't love.  Don't love the player but he fills an immediate need.

#118.  Khalen Saunders DL W. Illinois- He'll be long gone.  Love this pick.

#151.  David Edwards T WI- Don't mind this pick.  Probably a RT prospect.

#187.  Ben Powers G Oklahoma

#196.  Shareef Miller Edge Penn St.

#228.  Daniel Wise DL

Hard to love the whole thing given what there was to work with at 12 but I'd have loved Fant, Brown and Saunders where they were available.

This little exercise was like drinking vinegar out of the bottle. The groupings were brutal and ill conceived.  NFL Mock is one of the worst.  Spoiler *Cody Ford can play RT in the NFL.

#12:  Devin White ILB  LSU

#30.  Cody Ford G  Oklahoma

#44.  Marquise Brown WR  Oklahoma

#75.  Joe Jackson Edge Miami

#114 Beau Benzschawel G WI

#118. Elijah Holyfield RB Georgia

#151 Kendall Sheffield CB Ohio St

#187 Logan Parker TE S. Utah

#196. Shareef Miller Edge Penn St.

#228. Daniel Wise DL Kansas

#12 = White ILB (my preference is best Edge)

#30 = Smith TE (no brainer if he is stil there)

#44 = Brown WR (he won't be there so Adderly S)

#75 = Jackson Edge (if White is taken at #12)

#114 = Benz.... (got to get OL now)

#118 = Saunders DL - need depth good spot for a DL)

#151 = Edwards T (steal if Edwards is still available)

#187 = CB, S or RB here

#196 = BPA (how about a QB?)

#228 = BPA (I might look for a late WR here)

Would be pretty disappointed to not be able to grab a higher DL/Edge player than Joe Jackson/Austin Bryant in the 3rd.

These options suck, but I'd pray EDGE was addressed in free agency significantly I guess.

Yeah, couldn't believe Butler was that low, Walters Football's big board even had Butler that low.

Greenbay Packers Draft Prospects: LB Devin White

Posted on 02/11/2019 by Bryce Busbani
white4-640x480.jpg

In this segment we will look at potential draft prospects the Packers could be selecting on Thursday, April 26th- Saturday, April 27th. Green Bay has some glaring weaknesses especially on defense, specifically coming off the edge and rushing the passer. Follow this weekly segment as we breakdown different players at various position needs for the Green Bay Packers.

D4EF7939-4EED-499C-9E5E-F0480D0938BF-246

This week we will look at linebacker Devin White, 6ft 1in, 240 lbs ,out of LSU. Once he arrived in Baton Rouge, White transitioned from an all star running back from highschool to linebacker in college. He made 30 tackles as a true freshman, 10 on special teams, before getting a starting job as a sophomore, leading the team with 133 tackles and 14 tackles for loss, while showing his potential as a blitzer with 4.5 sacks.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller listed White as one of the top 10 players to watch for 2019, with an NFL scout professing his love for the LSU linebacker.

“He might be the most athletic player in the entire class,” the scout said.”
“I’ve heard about his battles with Leonard Fournette, and they’re on a similar level athletically.”

white3.jpg

This guy is a game changer, and pairing him with Martinez could transform this defense overnight, he is NFL ready in every single way imaginable. Lets look at some pros of his game and some cons.

  • Quarterback of the defense. An intelligent, instinctive run defender with a high football IQ.
  • Takes effective angles to locate against the run. Plays inside-out and moves laterally with speed to track down edge runs.
  • Quality delayed blitzer, showing good downhill burst, awareness and finishing ability. Would be great in Pettine’s scheme.
  • Forceful tackler that ends plays with an exclamation point. Delivers huge, legal blows that not only intimidate but inflict pain on opponents.
  • Can get caught up in play-action fakes and misdirection plays when playing in zone coverage.
  • Will get tunnel vision against the run.

It goes onto say, that the Packers #1 need is edge rusher but drafting for need will only doom you in the end, take the best player available.  If White is there at the 12 th pick, they would be foolish not to take him.  We need game changers!

Devin White ILB  LSU

The only player in the list that is value. Also biggest rookie impact defensive player in the draft outside of Allen, Bosa, and Q William's.

Cody Ford G  Oklahoma

Our biggest need is at OG

Nasir Adderley S Delaware

Herb Adderlys cousin. Could be a huge steal.

Khalen Saunders DL W. Illinois
