El Ramster
he was a beast for them. But that's a lot of money for a not so great player.. With that said he's getting drug tested today

tom cody
Reid's a good player but that seems to be a tad overpaid for him.
RuskieTitan
I thought he did a good job coming in and starting for the Panthers. Surprised a bit in how it netted him a solid contract, but they probably figure with an training camp with the team he could do better.

MOSteelers56
Maybe the safety position will now be valued a bit.

Tashaun Gipson makes 7.2. Tony Jefferson makes 8.5. The APY is fine. Not sure where people are getting that this is "a lot of money". The cap is 190+ million. He was last year, and it's reasonable to think that the protesting had something to do with that, though it can't be said either way. But now he has played; that circus is over and done with. We have no idea if the protest is that big of a deal at this point now that he has been back in the nfl. We really don't know what anyone would have paid for him. The safety market has been deflated in the last couple of years, that doesn't mean it would have been this year. Still, given his level of play, it's perfectly in line with comparable players and their salaries against inflating caps.

But was this a case of a team outbidding itself? let him taste the market.. See what he gets. But if I'm Car im offering 5 at most because i'm a cheap mofo.
