Nah, no dice.

Much like the Ford and Clark deal, any sort of trade would probably have that worked out very early - probably several days before any announcement. It's possible that it's being negotiated right now, in fact. You have benchmarks with the Lawrence and Clark deals, so it's not like you're walking into it without something to aim for.

I'd imagine it's possible the Jets table the same reported offer that came they were rumored to have thrown at Seattle for Clark - #3 for Houston's 2019 1st and Clowney and likely some Day 3 or 2020 Day 2 makeweight in one form or another from one or both sides.

Re: Solomon Thomas rumors - given he’s cheap seems to me that SF wants to be ready in case Bosa goes 1.1.  QW is the BPA next pick but obviously creates a surplus of starters.

So I ask the 49er fanbase - is this happening if Bosa is there or is this ARI 1.1 Bosa insurance?

@Forge? @Chrissooner49er? @49erurtaza? Others?

We drafted Solly to play outside he played 60 percent of his snaps on the outside and was awful. Wouldn't surprise me if they trade him regardless who is the pick. But he should play inside where he has had some success.

I think there's potential for it to happen either way. The fact of the matter is, he has sucked so far. Is he out of position? Absolutely, and there's hope for him as a 3-tech moving forward. But also possible that the new dline coach watched tape and just didn't like what he saw. Possible that we are more interested in committing to Armstead over Thomas. There are a lot of different possibilities here tbh. Honestly, QW doesn't affect Thomas as much as people think. QW would play the one tech on base down (which Solly won't play anyway), and they'd likely rotate on the interior on passing downs to keep them fresh, which I think happens regardless of which players we have.  armstead would be more impacted on base downs (he has experience playing the 1 tech), though either him or Solly could play an edge for Ford on true running downs.

I don't think QW expedites the process of moving on from Solly truth be told. I just think that there could be legit concern that he may not be any good, or that we really just don't have a place for him moving forward outside of a rotational guy given that his most natural position is the three tech spot (which again, would be the case whether or not we have bosa or QW, since we have Buck)

Thomas wouldn't be affected with Bosa's addition since supposedly he is going to be playing a lot more in the interior this season. But obviously if we go Williams, then Thomas' value dwindles even more.

The expected plan was for the nickel rush to look like Bosa/Thomas/Buckner/Ford. Thomas can't rush the edge for crap, and simply put, shouldn't either.

Or this could mean they want to keep Armstead long term and it makes no sense to keep him and Thomas if we go Bosa at #2.

Yeah the timing here suggests SF rightfully was hoping Bosa there at 1.2.   If he goes 1.1 then they have to take QW by BPA but then need to resolve the interior rotation.   They have to be praying it’s anyone but Bosa.  Hard to see them get great value for Thomas under these circumstances.

For some reason I could see him being decent pickup for Tennessee.  I feel like Vrabel would be able to figure out what to do with him.

Gotcha.  If Bosa still there and SF still deals him then no doubt it’s a pure evaluation decision.

Do teams normally put as much effort into smokescreens as the Cardinals are right now? This is absurd. When they take Murray like we knew they would it is all going to look silly.

and if they don't i never said that

I’m spending the like just for the last line.  Draft Day in a nutshell.

So the report was "Sweat saw a cardiologist, and the cardiologist said they misdiagnosed him at the combine- he's fine."

Specifically they thought he had hypertropic cardiomyopathy because they measured the thickness of some tissue and found it was over a threshold, but the specialist says that they measured incorrectly and he is within a normal range.

Interesting.  I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, that would have been bad news.

Well I take back what I said before - the reports were atrial fibrillation but HOCM is associated with more serious abnormalities.

Still that’s nuts they made that mistake.   Bedside echocardiography (US of heart) is very accurate with experienced users.   I can’t imagine they had a trainee doing the exam lol.

Given the unlikeliness of the DLs I like falling to the Titans in the first or second, I'd take me a Solomon Thomas if the price was right.
