Maybe after many years. He hasn't topped any leader boards, hasn't won any super bowls or been to any super bowls, and is largely overshadowed by every other top tier QB in his era - Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben and even other Manning. He'll be in the Chargers ring of honor for sure, but if he get's into the HoF it's because he played QB and all the other nominees that year didn't.

Hes going to have to wait some years until there is a weak year with QBs and the obvious ones get cleared out but I believe he makes it within 10 years of his retirement.

The lack of playoff success will be his biggest drawback, but his longevity and overall offensive statistics will eventually get him in.

He is on pace to finish 5th all time in both passing yards and TDs. A QB with those top 5-6 numbers in both categories dont get left out. Hes just not a 1st ballot guy because of the playoffs.

Yes but after 4-6 years of eligibility.

He'll be in a glut with Brady-Ben-Rodgers maybe even Eli so won't get in those years plus other positions.

Warren Moon and Dan Fouts are the precedent for him.

You're forgetting Brees too. Peyton will be in before Rivers sniffs eligibility.

Nope. No Qb without either a Super Bowl, an MVP or All Pro has ever made it.

Matt Ryan has the same stats and an MVP, OPOY, All Pro and a Super Bowl appearance. Same with Cam and he’ll lead every QB in rushing stats

So no. No shot unless he adds to his resume

Peyton, Brees, Rodgers and Brady will all automatically jump the line. Then you’ll have Ben and Eli around the same time who will likely wait but eventually get in due to rings. By the time that is finished up guys like Ryan and Cam will be coming up and they compare more favorably to HOF standards than Rivers. Then you have Stafford who when his career is done will be in the ballpark statistically as Rivers (who won’t get in)

That’s just at his position. There is a huge logjam at several other positions that will keep pushing Rivers back in years a QB isn’t eligible. Plus influx of new guys.

His best shot is veterans comittee

Matt Ryan and Cam in 19 seasons combined have 5 probowls. Rivers alone has 8.

Matt Ryan and Cam in 19 seasons combined have 2 seasons with over 100 passer rating, Rivers has 5.

Matt Ryan and Cam in 19 seasons combined have 9 seasons with 4000 yds passing and 8 seasons with 25 passing tds.

Rivers has 10 and 11 in both categories. Will likely retire top 4 in all major stats. He is 1 of 13 qbs with 8 or more probowls. All 12 of those are in or will be (Peyton, Brady and Brees).

Rivers is going to the HOF. The voters arent fickle and voted based off 1 season, which is really silliest thing ive heard.

If you can remove 1 season from a players career and they arent in the HOF or discussion, than they arent HOFers. Just that simple really.

Says the guy who said Cam and Ryan, based on 1 season have more of a case for HOF than Rivers. Thank God voters look at body of career and not 1 outlier season of a career. I suspect you wont be getting an invite anytime soon to be a HOF voter. You also said Ryan and Rivers have the same stats.
