Ravens trade Joe Flacco to Broncos

I don't hate this move for Denver. Cutting Keenum and eating the $10m is obviously not ideal. But if their plan is still to take a QB like Lock, Flacco is a much better leader than Keenum is. Look at Flacco's involvement with Lamar this year. Who cares about a (likely) 4th round pick in the grand scheme of things if it helps a young QB, especially since they just hired a defensive minded HC

I expanded this query and ran the search that includes Flacco's best season (2014) instead of the arbitrary cutoff at 2015. Surprisingly, the results are still the same:

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=1&player_id1_hint=Case+Keenum&player_id1_select=Case+Keenum&player_id1=KeenCa00&fromyear_1=2014&toyear_1=2018&player_id2_hint=Joe+Flacco&player_id2_select=Joe+Flacco&player_id2=FlacJo00&fromyear_2=2014&toyear_2=2018

Even on a per-game basis, Flacco is just barely better than Case Keenum.

Flacco is human trash kid. Dude should have been dumped after the SB. Dude's a scrub QB.

Case Keenum also had QB guru Jeff Fisher though.

I mean, if we're just looking at stats.... Keenum had one outlier season with Minnesota, with a solid run game and two very good WRs. Flacco working with pretty damn sub-par WRs outside a couple good years from Torrey Smith and Steve Smith
