All Mafia games have variations in roles, game mechanics, and rules, with varying levels of complexity — but most Mafia games are typically a game of an informed minority attempting to deceiving a majority. So, for all the variations, the game largely remains the same in terms of the overall objective. So, at its base, the significant difference is merely theme.
