That 8-9 mil should go to getting a higher tier player on D that's got 5 year deal that has no dead cap the last two years. We can draft two TE's and two WR's if the big board doesn't line up well with players on D. Carr can build chemistry with guys who will be around longer. Chemistry is good. Humble_Beast
Still think it’s dumb to let Cook walk after a career year... franchise tag would made sense... we need more assets to make this team better

Franchise tagging a 31 year old TE isn't smart. There are lots of TEs in this class that they can grown with
Rolni
It all comes down to Cook's market and asking price. If there is a desperate team, who gives him big dope, we should just let him walk. Gruden's scheme is TE friendly, we have some developemental pieces already in place and this draft is pretty good at TE and there will be some veterans available next to Cook in the market too... If Cook wants to be here and agrees on the FO's term that's fine too with me, since he is a weapon and last year he still looked fresh.

agarcia34
I would like to bring back Cook. He fit perfectly in what Gruden wanted but 8 million a year is what is projected he will get just to much rather draft a young TE and go after Tyler Eifert. He’s been injury prone but get him on a one year prove it deal which will be cheap. When healthy he’s shown he can contribute.

We're all in for this season, sign Bell, bring back Cook, and let's go out there and win 4 games.
agarcia34
Trades for Antonio Brown and NYRaider has convinced himself that the Raiders will go full f it mode and ignore the defense.

big_palooka
FWIW, with Brown in the fold, I'm all for Cook at the right price to take some coverage off him. None of it will mean anything if the Raiders don't SERIOUSLY upgrade the OT spots.
