First Round with Trades

1. Arizona Cardinals: Nick Bosa, DE Ohio State

Regardless of Kyler Murray's fit in the offense, Kingsbury has made it be known Rosen is the starter. With a roster lacking star players, the Cardinals would be smart to play it safe and take the best player in the draft. A line with Bosa and 2017 sack leader Chandler Jones could make some noise under Vance Joseph, who worked wonders with Von Miller and Bradley Chubb in Denver.

 

2. San Francisco 49ers: Josh Allen, DE Kentucky

I expect the 49ers to listen to trade offers here, but the jump to #2 could be too rich for some teams. Instead, San Francisco adds another first round defensive lineman (4th in 5 years) with Allen. With a good combine, Allen should solidify his spot as a top 3 pick come draft day.

 

3. *New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB Ohio State

New York is one of many top 10 teams that has a roster void of any big holes. Instead of settling for a DE or OT at #6, they make the trade up to get their future QB. Eli Manning will return next season, but after seeing the "redshirt season" work for Patrick Mahomes, Gettleman finally makes the move.

 

4. Oakland Raiders: Quinnen Williams, DT Alabama

DT isn't the biggest need for the Raiders, but Williams has the most talent. A top 2 pick in most drafts, Gruden will be happy to see Williams still on the board. I expect an edge rusher or two to be signed in free agency, and potentially be addressed later in the first round as well.

 

5. *Denver Broncos: Drew Lock, QB Missouri

Joe Flacco was brought in to be the starter for 2019, but he isn't a long term option. John Elway has been keeping an eye on Lock for a while now, and with 11 total picks to work with, they could pull the trigger here in a trade up.

 

6. New York Jets (via NYG): Jonah Williams, OT Alabama

After moving up from 6 to 3 last year, they trade down from 3 to 6 and take the player they wanted all along. Darnold showed flashes his rookie year, but protection up front is a must. Williams is the top ranked offensive lineman in the draft on most peoples boards.

 

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: DK Metcalf, WR Ole Miss

With a potential Nick Foles trade coming this offseason, is Kyler Murray still an option here? He could be, but whoever's under center needs another weapon. Metcalf is that and more. He's a massive target that will help this offense get to the next level.

 

8. Detroit Lions: Rashan Gary, DE Michigan

If there's one thing Detroit needs, it's an edge rusher. Gary has some effort concerns, but his raw talent alone is enough to get him in the top 10. Patricia finally gets his guy, who will replace Ansah, while keeping him in-state.

 

9. *Washington Redskins: Kyler Murray, QB Oklahoma

Washington is in a tough spot here, with Alex Smith likely out for the year and not much cap space to solve the problem in free agency. Murray is an electric talent which is something the Redskins need to provide a spark to an offense that was holding the team back last season. Adding Murray and Guice to a team that started 6-3 last season could be trouble for the NFC East.

 

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (via DEN): Cody Ford, OT Oklahoma

Following the trade down, Tampa Bay would be wise to add some protection for Jameis Winston. The hiring of Bruce Arians could influence this option. If Winston has more time in the pocket and limit turnovers, the Bucs could be a popular bounce back candidate.

 

11. Cincinnati Bengals: Devin White, LB LSU

White has been the popular pick for Cincinnati since the draft order was finalized. Vontaze Burfict has been good when he's played, but concussions could cut his career short. White can cover the field and fill a huge void for whichever defensive coordinator takes the job.

 

12. *Cleveland Browns: Ed Oliver, DT Houston

For the first time in years, Cleveland has a solid roster without any gaping needs. Arguably the biggest need, however, is that DT spot next to Ogunjobi. Cleveland has plenty of draft picks to make a small trade up at this stage in the draft, and Oliver's mini fall ends in a perfect place for him to thrive.

 

13. Miami Dolphins: Clelin Ferrell, DE Clemson

I'll believe the early reports that Miami plans on taking this year to develop players before going after a 2020 QB. Building the trenches is the best way to do that, and with Robert Quinn and Andre Branch potential cut candidates, Ferrell should slide right in.

 

14. Atlanta Falcons: Christian Wilkins, DT Clemson

Regardless of whether or not they resign Grady Jarrett, more bodies on the defensive line are needed. Wilkins is a high character guy that should transition seamlessly into this defense and start right away.

 

15. Buffalo Bills (via WAS): TJ Hockenson, TE Iowa

Buffalo should touch on every offensive position outside of QB this year. With the recent release of Charles Clay, the TE group is looking thin. Hockenson is one of the best TE prospects in years, and should provide Josh Allen with a great blocker and receiver.

 

16. Carolina Panthers: Jawaan Taylor, OT Florida

Cam Newton can't survive behind this line too much longer. Matt Kalil has been a disaster, so a franchise left tackle should be priority number one. Taylor could end up going much higher than this, but Carolina would be happy to see him still available.

 

17. Green Bay Packers (via CLE): Montez Sweat, DE Mississippi State

Edge rusher is probably the biggest hole on this defense. Sweat could easily go in the top 10, but if he falls, Green Bay should run to the podium. 

 

18. Minnesota Vikings: Dexter Lawrence, DT Clemson

An offensive lineman seems to be the popular pick here. Another big need is DT, especially if Sheldon Richardson signs elsewhere in free agency.

 

19. Tennessee Titans: N'Keal Harry, WR Arizona State

If Marcus Mariota is the franchise QB, Tennessee needs to provide him with the weapons to prove it. Harry is the perfect compliment to 2017 1st round pick Corey Davis

 

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Greedy Williams, CB LSU

Most don't expect Williams to last this long, but he could be another talented corner to fall due to size concerns. Pittsburgh needs a replacement for Artie Burns and/or Joe Haden, who's getting up there in age.

 

21. *Los Angeles Chargers: Mack Wilson, LB Alabama

Seattle only has 4 draft picks, so teams could target them to trade up with for a bit of a discount. LA's linebacker corps caught the injury bug bad last season.

 

22. Baltimore Ravens: Jachai Polite, DE Florida

Terrell Suggs might only have one more season left in him and Za'Darius Smith is a free agent. Polite can replace whichever one leaves first.

 

23. Houston Texans: Greg Little, OT Ole Miss

It's no secret Houston needs offensive line help. Deshaun Watson got sacked the most in the league last season, so the Texans should go offensive line heavy in the first few rounds.

 

24. Oakland Raiders (via CHI): Deionte Thompson, S Alabama

Doubling down on defense with their first two picks, Oakland has been looking for a safety to pair with Karl Joseph. Thompson comes from a strong line of Alabama defenders, where Mayock and company reunite him with Quinnen Williams.

 

25. Philadelphia Eagles: Dre'mont Jones, DT Ohio State

Philly needs to retool this defensive line that will likely lose multiple starters this offseason. A run stuffer to put next to Fletcher Cox would be a smart way to go.

 

26. Indianapolis Colts: Brian Burns, DE Florida State

This defense improved tremendously last season. An edge rusher is still needed to take this group to the next level.

 

27. Oakland Raiders (via DAL): Marquise Brown, WR Oklahoma

This pick, coming via the Amari Cooper trade, could be the spot for them to pick his replacement. Injured or not, Brown is an immensely talented receiver that has the speed Mayock and Gruden love.

 

28. Seattle Seahawks (via LAC): Zach Allen, DE Boston College

Frank Clark is a free agent, and even if he's brought back, it seems like the Seattle thing to do to add bodies to that group.

 

29. Kansas City Chiefs: DeAndre Baker, CB Georgia

We saw in the AFC Championship that the DB group is what's holding this team back from reaching the super bowl. Kansas City has their choice of him or Murphy.

 

30. Green Bay Packers (via NO): Noah Fant, TE Iowa

Green Bay needs a TE of the future, and present. Fant can learn under Jimmy Graham for a year before taking over.

 

31. Los Angeles Rams: Byron Murphy, CB Washington

Another corner that could fall due to size concerns. Talib is aging and Peters was inconsistent.

 

32. New England Patriots: Jeffery Simmons, DT Mississippi State

Simmons did just tear his ACL, but he is a top 10 prospect. New England is known for taking chances on players with character concerns while also being used to not having their top draft pick available (traded their 1st for Cooks in 2017, losing Wynn to a torn ACL last year). DT is the teams' biggest need by far.

Looks good to me for the Falcons He's probably my #3 DT  in the draft now after Williams and Oliver.   He was #4 behind Simmons as well but with the injury he ofcourse moves down the list although i still want him pretty badly if we can get him via a trade down while picking up an extra 2nd round pick.

I don't see this pick at all. There is no way Kraft would allow this pick. This guy is on tape beating a woman. Kraft wife had a guy cut right after the Pats pick him when she found out he was the same type of sum bag.  He does give a chance on certain players but I don't see it in this case.  Yes I know there are other in the Pat past however this is on video which would be in the Boston sports news daily and take away from the Pats. The coverage and outcry would be brutal.

This Massachusetts after all  and today environment would react accordingly !

I'm not sure if Denver will trade up for a QB now that they traded for Flacco. I can still see Lock in Denver if he is there at 10, but I'm not sure if a trade up in an option now.

 

That said, Lock seems to be the only QB that Elway likes in the 1st and if he plans to grow Lock behind Flacco he will probably need to trade up for Lock.....the big question is if he would do anything for Lock or he would be OK on waiting for 2020 if Lock isn't there at 10, now they have a "safety" blanket with their new starting QB?

Dre'mont over Tillery would tick me off. Dre'mont is more of an early 2nd rounder. He has no bull rush. Tillery is bigger, uses the same club and rip moves as Dre'mont with the same amount of success, but also has a bull rush and a better anchor in the run game. Dre'mont should get drafted after Tillery, and the Eagles prefer their DT's to be 300+ lbs. Jones played at around 285 this past season.

I doubt he’d do great outside of philly but the Jaguars seem to like him whether we agree or not. I get the sense whichever team trades for him probably won’t be picking a QB in the first this year. He’s not necessarily a Flacco/Alex Smith type veteran at this point

hes a free agent unless the eagles tag him.   plus just using last year as an example but did signing bradford stop the cards from drafting rosen. trading for tyrod stop the browns from mayfield.   this jags roster needs a QB before any position unless both Haskins(whom the jags are Heavily interested in(they live scouted him 5 times this year and reportedly was by season end their number 1 on the big board).   jags will trade up for haskins i believe.

Taylor and Bradford fall under the Flacco/Smith category. Foles has a super bowl and somewhat of chance to be the future of another team.

I agree they should trade up for Haskins but with what I’ve read about the Foles situation, that doesn’t seem like the most likely scenario at this point. A lot can and will change
